For a coward like I am, how can I get better. We can change. You weren't used to eating spicy stir fried mussels, but now you can eat it. It's not as easy as eating fried mussels, you know.
TASTE (2025) | Episode 8
the entire time i was watching taste completely and utterly amazed at phuwin's performance it got me questioning whether his scripts/directing have just been lacking the whole time because i did NOT think he had it in him???????? he was incredible?? truly his best role by far!
hiiiii
yessss! actually i've always had a soft spot for phuwin since he came on the gifted graduation but was a bit disappointed that i never fully vibed with his bl projects (never let me go was probably the one that was most impressionable for me) but taste was really on a whole other level. it tackled so many contemporary issues other than teenage drug use, family abuse, lgbtq+ that fans have seen in its predecessor hormones series, but it ventures to portray bl industry, incel communities, supression of political freedom, how violence affects one's mindset on love and sexual relationships...
i also think it's phuwin's best role so far because the range he showed within this script was incredible. as diesel, phuwin depicted how fucked up a rich spoiled kid can get and how distorted his views on love are because of his upbringing. it is not a novel groundbreaking thing for phuwin to portray violent toxic male characters before (see: phuwin in wednesday child and dalah death and the flowers) but for me, diesel is the first time i felt empathy for this kind of toxic masculine character played by phuwin.
even if diesel isn't my favorite character in taste, his relationship with dream was the most compelling and intriguing one for me personally (although purebambi came very close) and he's also the character i felt sorry most for by the end of the series because of how trapped his character is and the prospect for diesel's future is just so bleak (I FUCKING LOVE IT!).
I really have to thank P'Aom, who was the casting director for Dalah Death and The Flowers, because he called Phuwin in to cast for Taste and I've been cherishing every week that we get to see Phuwin and the cast of Taste gather together to watch Taste together. They seem to have formed a little family of their own which I thought is really sweet.
I really hope the Twitter trends number are good enough for them to bring us Taste Season 2 even though the ratings weren't as high as other oneD originals (but it's Phuwin's highest ratings work, not counting the CH3 lakorns he did as a kid, already so kudos to that).
BUT LIKE BECAUSE DIESEL [redacted] DREAM AFTER THIS KISS!?!?!?!!?!!??!?!?!? INSANE. the screenwriters were so evil (affectionate) for this =)))))))))))) i need taste s2 for my mental health
