What’s you find difficult may not be your fault… but heres how we can change it
When you first enter a supermarket, what do you see? When you walk alongsidethe aisle, what do you see highlighted on the side? Let’s have a look… Well! Many companies and supermarkets will claim they care about you, but the question is, do they care about your health? A bigger question is…. Do they owe us that? My opinion is that companies play on our addictions and emotional connects to…

Side effects of healthy changes
Waking up on Monday morning after a party weekend like “I’m craving water. Where’s my tea, where’s my oatmeal, later can I have a salad please?”
Doctors orders
I was not at all surprised when the nurse said my blood pressure was troubling high. Anxiety had set in two days earlier when the doctor’s office called me to come in for a follow up from the routine blood work I had drawn a few days earlier. It is customary for them to mail a letter with a summary unless a result is out of the normal range.
When the doctor entered and after our greeting, I…

Finally, an update.
I gave up coffee on Monday, August 27. That first week was no fun, but the headaches passed pretty quickly. My energy levels started to equalize a few days into September, which coincided with adjusting to a WFPB diet, which I started on September 1.
The first weekend was hell. Body aches, headaches, super low energy, etc. But by day 3 I was starting to feel better, and by day 4 I officially felt good! Day 8 saw me waking up and going for a run because I didn’t know what to do with all my extra energy (I haven’t been on a run in years). (Note: that’s the only run I’ve gone on, but I’m seriously thinking about it again. I used to love running...hmm...)
I’ve lost about 7 pounds (there are daily fluctuations, which I’m only charting due to bet promises #smashyourscale ) and I feel flippin’ fantastic. Even on days like today when I’m stressed and grumpy, I feel loads better than I did on a good day last month, when I was all “coffee and pastries are my only needs!”
No food pics to share.
#dailydozen is my best friend. Found out about it (it’s a free app by the people who wrote “How Not to Die”) a few days in and it’s made a world of difference.
(Note: the only times I’ve broken from the ideal are 1 evening when I had an egg, and one lunch when I had a tablespoon of feta crumbles. As my plan is to not be wicked strict, this feels good and acceptable to me.)
Cooked again tonight, trying to keep my protein/iron up. The rice only has soy sauce, and the green beans only have salt (no butter!). #PCOS #tryingtoeathealthy #dietchanges
One of the only bread products I can have without guilt are bagels. They're high in iron and protein, two things my body is always fighting to keep. Some light cream cheese, fruit, and hard boiled eggs completes the meal. One cup of coffee is all I get; I've been getting myself used to little cream or sugar. #progress #dietchanges #PCOS
