009. a run-down (or abandoned) motel room . / @diethrice
THE room derelict in appearance , there's still takeout menus in drawers as they're sprawled out on bedspread. the two of them looking them over as he sits up by pillows and she on the edge of bed. picking one up with fingertips he smiles , a smile borne out of nostalgia. ' hey ' getting her attention as he then holds up menu , ' want anything from golden city ? ' lips tug upwards as grin widens , and warmth can be felt within that very smile.
' they say they do FREE delivery and they throw in free dumplings if your order is over 50.00 . . . ' he then goes to open it as he reads off various offerings , the room dimly lit as the sun lowers and the sunset bathes the room in orange lighting. slipping away before they can make the most of it. a fire too risky as he then knows that soon enough MOONLIGHT will be their only light.
they're halfway through PENNSYLVANIA out past what ONCE was small amish communities , there's nothing left but overturned buggies , and tourist attractions that have long ago been abandoned.
' though . . . ' he reaches in backpack , bow + arrows lay on the bed adjacent as he takes out two wrapped packages. ' i have something slightly better ' gives her a look before then extracting TWO Twinkie's. ' now i know it's not a candle-lit dinner at some five star restaurant that you'd PROBABLY be begging me not to do BUT - this is more us. '
throws her one as he then then picks up a MENU for mexican food , ' sometimes it really does make me miss the small things ' then closing menu as he tosses it upon others. ' what's your favorite food ? besides twinkies '
