Whenever I see shippers desperately clinging to the one time the people they ship were next to each other I laugh.

But not in the way you think.

It's a slightly hysterical laugh, full of sadness and sorrow.

Because I know their pain, I can feel it as my own, because I know what it's like to ship two characters with a ridiculously small amount of interaction, I understand the need to have something to show when someone tries to dismiss their ship.

It's my laugh of "Oh my God, we're so screwed here, and I wished we weren't, and I feel your pain, so let me laugh at how absurd the universe is".
