Another favorite trope of mine (that works in any Kakashi ship, honestly, but I am focusing on my OTP) is Kakashi having wolf mannerisms. And features, but mostly mannerisms. From the ridiculous to the scary to the endearing.

He will growl in warning, and if it weren't for the mask he'd be baring his very sharp teeth, if you get too close to his pups with bad intentions. And yes, these are his pups, not his children but his pups, he will forever call them that. He'll also growl if you do the same to his mate, even if he hasn't asked Iruka out yet that's his mate.

He avoids doing so in public because he avoids raising his voice too much in front of others but he can howl and his pack can distinguish between his howls and he can do the same with theirs. He did it once with Naruto nearby and the feral little thing decided to just do it too and now they can kinda communicate like that. He almost fainted when Iruka howled the first time (I am currently writing a whole ass fanfic about this in my mind let's hope I can write it some time). Iruka is very embarrassed to do so but he can almost see a white fluffy tail wag every time Kakashi hears him.

Speaking of Iruka... He's embarrassed to admit that it took him the longest time to understand he was being courted, but in his defense, he didn't expect Kakashi of all people to court him. Boy has some serious self-esteem troubles, sadly. He has some experience with people with animal mannerisms, considering he's adopted a fox child and teaches the children of many clans, so once it clicks he does his research, but until then... Kakashi is suffering because he refuses to talk like a normal person.

Speaking of suffering, Kakashi whimpering and whining to get his way. Be it pets or kisses or the newest edition of Icha Icha that Iruka has confiscated. Thank you for coming to my TEDTalk.
