#difficult game

Played rain world for the first time and yeah it’s difficult but I actually enjoy learning how it works. Movement is my main issue and the combat if you can call it that but I’m not really stressing it. So far I enjoy the game and I look forward to seeing how many deaths I’ll have in the game.

I’m really tired right now, and I can’t stop thinking about how because I have a fine motor coordination disorder no matter how hard I try, or how long, there’s some video game stories I’ll never get to experience firsthand.

I like to think my beliefs are less biased than this but I gotta admit that’s the reason I can’t stand the “Haha get good idiot. You don’t need an easy mode you just need to keep playing.” Mindset in video game fandoms. And especially when the same people will act like learning about a story secondhand from a playthrough or summary video and wanting to discuss it is some kind of sin. Or you shouldn’t be treated with basic human respect in fandom spaces because of it.

Video games are a hobby, a hobby about overcoming challenges and experiencing fiction in a beautifully unique way. But to a lot of people either for ability or financial reasons truly enjoying the hobby can feel out of reach.

I want ultra hard modes to exist for those sides of the community I really do! But I just wish there were more options built into games for people like me. I don’t need to call myself the best to ever do it. People can certainly get more praise for completing a harder challenge. But it’s existentially fucking with me that because of how my brain and muscles are connected I’ll likely never finish games I would love to play without mods.

This may surprise you, but the hardest game I've ever played isn't any souls game, Cuphead, the sans fight in UT, any Mega Man game, etc.

No game has EVER made my blood boil as much to get all 3 stars for the difficult levels.
