Equal parts fun and corny, Brute Force is a sci-fi squad-based shooter that is endearingly of its time. Switching between squad members in single player is cool, but I’d love to give the local co-op mode a try at some point.

Freelancer - PC - Intro & over first hour of gameplay with commentary [UHD 4K60]

The huge open world space simulator follow up to Starlancer, takes the franchise in a very different direction to the mission lead original. Freelancer turns to the classic space game Elite for much of its design, but adds in a large story and a huge cast of characters to give the galaxy a whole range of life.

You play Edison Trent a mercenary out to make his name in the galaxy. Who finds himself on the space station Freeport 7 at the wrong time and the wrong place. Setting up the events that will bring him into a conspiracy that will rock the entire system.

A huge game with plenty of depth, even if the missions can get somewhat repetitive, while the story does force the player to play a certain way, once it ends. You can choose to explore the galaxy how you like, which factions to ally with and who to work for. Chase down pirates and trade resources or steal cargo and smuggle goods, you play how you want. You can search out hidden ship wrecks along with flying and upgrade one of the many different ship designs.

Another Freelancer IPv6 Workaround

Try using a router configured to only issue IPv4 addresses and pop your computer into the router’s DMZ. You should effectively be able to play MP once you get the global server fix. Contrary to claims that you need to install an extra executable, you don’t. You can just patch one line in freelancer.ini.

The link no longer works, but the text in question is:

You just need to modify your freelancer.ini in your EXE folder.

You’ll find the following line: hostname = fllistserver.zone.msn.com ; GUN server in Redmond (DNS entry)

Replace that line with the following lines: ;hostname = fllistserver.zone.msn.com ; GUN server in Redmond (DNS entry) hostname = gun.fllistserver.com ; www.fllistserver.com
