Trying to figure out colors for Eon. Idk, this doesnt feel quite right yet, I don’t think.
~Info about the Eon+Ion’s story below~
In any case, he’s meant to be a bootleg competing brand to the program Ion is. Hence the similar names. So their designs have some similarities and I was trying to make their palettes notably related but different at the same time.
He’s also ultimately an antagonist, hence a lean towards darker colors, tho there is always the possibility for some kind of redemption I suppose. Considering Ion herself “broke”/glitched in such a way that she deviated from the hivemind of her core code to become more of an actual individual over time. Something similar could happen to Eon, maybe.......?
Or at least one Instance of Eon. He’ll have 3 separate palettes in that case, considering there is 100% going to be a spooky palette for the malware form of him. So then in that case, there would be Primary Eon in a palette like this. Malware Eon, who would be more in the vein of inverts I think. And then Glitch Eon, who may find a space in between or otherwise alter his appearance to differentiate from other Instances of his code that may be around.
Ion, for the record, does not change anything about her appearance to show a difference between her and other Instances of her code. Partially to better escape too much notice when she is more or less hunted down for certain reasons. But mostly bc her Visual Depiction is already fairly unstable without introducing new code into the mix. Besides, her colors can sometimes glitch out on their own, introducing (temporary) variations from another copy of her code. She is able to “Change Outfits” though, as there are a number of presets in her base code.
