Storyboarding : D & AD BBC Brief
“Bringing interest back to the news...”
Utilising the BBC’s D&AD brief, I was challenged in storyboarding a conceptual design that would bring the local news to local people - news that would be ignored otherwise.
Page one of this concept focuses on our issue, people download and use news applications from time to time but outside of reading the notifications, these often go unused. That’s when the BBC wireless is introduced.
Page two focuses on its use and interaction. At the time, the device was designed to appear like a newspaper that could be tuned to your local area for local news. The device then plays news about a new cat cafe looking for donations which the user now interacts with (which they actually passed on the first page). This helps encapsulate not only what the device does but how it affects the user/wider community in a simplistic manner (one of my favourites in actuality).
