Intriguing your digital learners, how do we teach? Shall we have passive or active learners? It’s too easy to just stare at a monitor and space out. As facilitators we need to actively engage the learner to participate even in an online environment. We need to be promoting more compared to in-class sessions. Try utilizing webinar software with interactive capabilities, prompt learners out of their comfortable chairs and try various post-assessment techniques like using Kahoot for review. Having an active learner is more beneficial for the overall learning experience with all learners in the online session. Also, an active approach is proven to improved participation, engagement and knowledge retention.
