In Germany, from 2017, teachers at universities will be forbidden to upload copyrighted content on sharing websites for students, to support their studying.
Until now, the universities paid a certain amount to make this possible, but from 2017 on, that contract ends.
The new contract wants the students to pay 0.8 euros for every ‘scrap’ ( not sure about the word here) of copyrighted content for every teaching they attend to. The universities do not support that, because the students would have to pay, the ones who they believe to be our future, who should be able to gain that knowledge by working hard, not paying. And therefore there is no new contract, meaning, from 2017 onwards, we won’t get the access to copyrighted digital content. This petition tries to support finding a solution.
I’d love to get support from many people, because even if this is only in Germany, learning and studying shouldn’t be a question of money. (And also I am a student who profited until now from the old contract lol, it definetly helped studying a lot faster an easier)
