Hamburg möchte Austragungsort der Olympischen Spiele werden, die erste Hyperloop-Strecke Europas bauen und sich zur innovativen digitalen Stadt entwickeln. Mit diesen Projekten verfolgt die Hansestadt erklärtermassen das Ziel, sich prominent auf der Weltkarte der Metropolen zu platzieren. Schon seit Jahrzehnten beflügeln Ideen von „Personengeschossen, die in Röhren dahin brausen”, wie der Hyperloop schon vor über 60 Jahren angepriesen wurde, Flugtaxis zur individuellen Überwindung von verstopften Straßen, autonome Drohnen, die Pakete ausliefern und die Idee einer automatisierten städtischen Infrastruktur die technologie-getriebene Fantasien. Warum setzt die Stadtpolitik auf Wettbewerbe, Spektakel und fantastische Technologien mit teils zweifelhafter Herkunft (wie etwa die von Elon Musk geprägte Idee des Hyperloops)? Warum wird in Zeiten der Multikrisen immer noch mit den Versprechen von Wachstum, Effizienz und Geschwindigkeit gearbeitet, obwohl die städtischen Verwaltungen eigentlich genug damit zu tun hätten, die maroden urbanen Infrastrukturen zu reparieren und den öffentlichen Kollektivverkehr auszubauen? Welche Einflüsse haben Bigtech und kybernetische Konzepte auf die Entwicklung urbaner Räume? Wie könnten andere Utopien aussehen, die etwa auf Selbstbestimmung, Reperatur, Nachhaltigkeit und Inklusion beruhen?

the digital logic of capture is 

“centred not on computers but on human behaviour”-   not so much “direct use of specific new technologies” and more “about the deployment of the linguistic metaphors”

The Capture and valorisation of various forms of human activity beyond the normal time and place of work, as well as the corollary extension of economic mechanisms to function as a general representational scheme, can be observed as a logical background bone of what has been called "neoliberalism".
