An anecdote that constitutes what is essential
The material amasses. The immaterial encompasses.
Ahmed Salman
It's not as invisible—or as disembodying—as our devices lead us to believe.
“The problem with digital culture … is not that it is, in fact, immaterial and disembodied, but that we have come to think of it is as such.” We think of digital culture as immaterial—cyberspace, the cloud—but in reality, the Internet is sustained by vast, global infrastructure of data centers, broadband network connections, trans-oceanic cables, cellular towers, Wi-Fi hotspots, and of course phones and computers. Global mining operations to obtain metals needed for electronics production spew toxic waste that poison the Earth. And digital technologies encourage us to deny our connections with our own bodies, which in turn connect us to the real world, and each other.

The journey has begun but where will it end? Well it actually end? Revisiting work on spherical geometry. Seeing timeless themes with fresh eyes in a digital context. Everything seems central but how can you be sure? Every horizon is identical. Revisiting work on spherical geometry, playing with perspective and perception. Passing from one sphere to the next with no sense of having left. Revisiting work on spherical geometry, this time, taking it to illusory, space-twisting levels.
