I did minor babble about a TF-Digimon Crossover and this is one of the things that came from it:

Original Concept

They are a “wearable” device and that word is in quotations because it does not come off. Blame my childhood love of OG Ben 10 (and Power Rangers Dino Thunder).

Begin with the appearance of a Digivice 01, but transforms into a slimmer “smart tech” forearm vambrace with a piece over the back of the hand, with custom colors and digi-code molded into it, and a more complex set of buttons. The buttons and screen remain in all forms.

The digivice begins as an amulet worn by the digimon from birth, and detaches from it’s tether/band/harness upon meeting their Chosen partner. The digimon keeps the old tether of the digivice, which is unique to each of them.

Has the ability to send and receive text messages and serve as telephones. The contact data for teammates (cohort members) is present from its emergence, but contacts of non-cohort Digidestined can be added manually.

The digivice does not come off so long as the bond between the Chosen One and Digimon exists.

Can be used to send commands to and communicate remotely with its associated Digimon.

When pointed at a Digimon, can be used to scan their data and view their stats (although this does not work on all Digimon, such as Arkadimon).

Can convert various objects to data (such as food or medicinal herbs) and upload them directly into the Digimon and preserve them to be used later. This only works on certain items.

When two are used, can both Jogress and Partition multiple Digimon together.

Channeling the emotional energy of the Chosen Child to:

->Evolve a Baby II Digimon into a Child Digimon,[5] or a Child Digimon into an Adult Digimon[6]

-> Super Evolve an Adult Digimon into a Perfect Digimon, using the energy of a Crest (either a physical Crest via a Tag,[7] or the power of one that resides within the Chosen Child[8])

->Warp Evolve or Ultimate Evolve a Child or Perfect Digimon into an Ultimate Digimon[9]

->Fuse two Digimon into an Ultimate Digimon[10] (very rare)

Opening Digital Gates via computers, to enter the Digital World at will.

Releasing its potent light energy to:

Repel or damage dark Digimon, and Digimon under the influence of a Black Gear;[11] can also purge Black Gears from Digimon entirely[12]

If a Digimon is repeatedly exposed to the light of Digivices, this can grant them the ability to evolve as well[13]

Power up the attacks of a holy Digimon[12]

Together with other Digivices, project a cage of light that can safely contain anything contained within it, including attacks from within[14]

Using built-in tracker functions to:

Can download terrain data from Terminals in the Digital World to acquire advanced maps that can be used to track one’s digimon, other cohort members and their digimon, set and mark a destination, and mark a hostile so long as it has been encountered before. In the Real World the range and detail of this map is comparatively limited.

React with a light and beeping noise to the presence of another Chosen Child nearby. When in the real world, the range of this feature is severely limited.[19]

Plot the locations of other nearby Digivices relative to the user as red dots on a simple map[19]

Analyzing and archiving data on any Digimon that the Digivice's owner has previously encountered.

Triggering a reaction with a Crest, enabling armor evolution

Displaying a digital clock which counts seconds, using a series of five bars to visually represent the passing of every ten seconds[21][N 2]

Receiving SOS messages from the owner's partner Digimon in the Digital World and sending them to the digimon in turn[22]

Send evolution data to other Digivices[23]

Whenever these Digivices are responding to something or are alerting the user, they make a distinctive series of four rapid beeps.[19]

Digiformers AU Snippet - Skyfire and Starscream get their crests

Here’s a little scene I wrote for the Digimon/Transformers crossover. Here’s some silly kid shenanigans with Starscream and Skyfire.

(For those new to the AU: Starscream and Skyfire are two Digidestined, and their Digimon are twins Seekermon nicknamed Skywarp and Thundercracker respectively. Details of the AU here)

"We got our crests!" Sky shouted with joy. "We actually did it! I wonder what mine means!"

"Let me see! Let me see!" Thundercracker shouted, jumping up to see it as well. Sky grinned with delight as he looked at the odd symbol carved into the purple slice of crystal. He traced his finger over the circle surrounded by two swirls.

"What do you think it is?" He said, angling it towards his digimon.

"Hmm, I don't know. I guess the crests use some ancient old symbols we don't use anymore."

He'd have to figure it out himself then. That'd probably be part of the fun. He stood up and looked over to Star, who hadn't said a word since he'd gotten his own crest. He seemed to be almost defensively hunched over it.

"Star? What did you get?" Sky headed over. "Come on, Star, I wanna see."

"No!" Star shouted as Sky got closer, hiding his away in his pocket. "It's just the same as yours. It's some weird funny pattern. Who knows what it means!"

Star was already walking away. Sky sighed.

"I just wanted to see it."

"We might as well wait until we can find someone to translate it. Let's just go get some food or something." And Star practically ran off through the forest and back towards the village they'd come from.

Skywarp and Thundercracker both looked at each other. Skyfire sighed. He wondered what could possibly be up with Star.

Star sat behind a tree, his arms hugged around his knees, his head buried. Occasionally he'd make some sort of beleaguered groan. This was terrible, he'd been looking so forward to getting his crest and now everything was ruined.

Sky's may have looked weird and abstract but there was no mistaking what Star's represented; it was a stylised heart cut into a red piece of crystal. Love. He had the crest of love. This meant it was true, that the crush he'd been denying he had on Sky for the past few months really was true. It had even started to glow a bit as Sky had come closer. And if Sky saw it, he'd find out, and maybe it'd all go completely wrong. And Sky would reject him and not want to hang out with him anymore. What the heck was he going to do?

"I hate everything and I want to die..."

"Now, I think that might be an overstatement."

Star jumped as he turned around and saw Windblademon in the trees above him. Star instantly found himself becoming more defensive.

"What are you doing here? Go away!" he shouted, even as the ultimate level digimon hopped down and came closer.

"Why are you hiding here, away from Sky? Surely he'll be wondering where you are."

Star pressed his hand against his chest, where he feel the outline of the crest under his jacket.

"I just... I can't let him see my crest. He'll hate me."

"Why do you think that?"

"Because I lo-" the words stuck in Star's throat. He went back to burying his head. "Your stupid digimon gods made a mistake! They gave me the wrong crest! And now Sky's going to hate me once he realises I like him."

"Do you really think someone who's strongest trait is kindness would reject you so cruelly?"

Star stiffened.

"Is that what his crest is for?"

Windblademon nodded.

"Yes. I believe Sky would never hate you, it doesn't matter how you feel about him. If you tell him how you feel you might find he'll respond as well."

Starscream didn't say anything.

"Love is a very powerful emotion. You shouldn't have to be scared of it."

"Can I still get my crest changed?"

"No."

"Oh."

"I know you're not entirely happy with it, but it's the perfect trait for one who's heart burns so brightly with passion for anything they care about."

Starscream looked up at her, giving a small smile.

"Why don't you tell him?" she asked.

"Okay... but, not now. I'll tell him tomorrow."

"Tomorrow then." Windblademon said, offering the young human her hand. "You should get back, they'll be worried about where you are."

All today, @prismpaladin and I were working on a project. In preparation for one day cosplaying Jou and Takeru from Digimon, we started to create digivices. Prism 3D printed the actual device, while I drew makeshift sprites and painted them.

Let’s talk more about digivices in Digimon Adventure Tri.

Specifically, Maki’s, Meiko’s and Ken’s. I think the scene with the 02 kids focused a little more on Ken’s digivice than on the others’, been shown on the ground... Later, Maki brought a different black digivice. It looks different from Ken’s, and hers was different in the flashback, and not even black (white/pink? Maybe we connect this to the theories about Maki, Meiko and Hikari and Balance, Darkness and Light? I think it’s improbable, but I was reminded of Hikari for a moment), but she had it from some reason. And than Meiko’s, which turned black and red. I think I’m probably looking too much into the colors, and even if it’s true, Ken’s digivice is probably irrelevant, but I wanted to point this out.
