This was another prompt I had a hard time deciding the direction for at first. I have so many AU ideas in my head already, so many other fandoms/series I could easily project Digimon onto (+ the ship that has currently taken over my life). But then it hit me... Quite hard, actually. There was no way I would pass on the chance of an Adventure/Tamers crossover. Because as much as Adventure has completely consumed my soul these days, I am 100% concinved that I wouldn’t even be here, on the internet, in this fandom, if it wasn’t for 11-year-old-me discovering the world wide web and the wonderful world of anime - and shipping. I had fallen in love with Adventure back in the day already, but Tamers was the first fandom I actively experienced on the internet. And oh boy, did I experience it. The first fanfiction I ever read was about Tamers - as was the first yaoi fanfiction I ever read and I can’t even tell you how hard I fell for Jenrya/Takato back in the day. I basically had two reactions:
1.) “WAIT, THEY ARE BEST FRIENDS, ARE YOU TELLING ME TAKATO IS IN LOVE WITH JENRYA HERE??? W H A T????”
2.) “I LOVE THIS SO MUCH, GIVE ME MORE.”
Jenrya, to this day, is still my favourite Tamers character, just as close to my heart as Koushirou being my favourite Adventure character - and nowadays, thinking back on it, I’m noticing not only a pattern in the types of characters I fall in love with, but also with the kinds of ships I would sell my soul for. Basically, you can sum up both Taishirou and Jenkato (or Takarya, how I lovingly called it back then) like this:
Koushirou/Jenrya: “You like the brave ones with a tendency to self-sacrifice, who may become a little reckless once they fight for something that’s dear to them, since they have the biggest heart and a very emotional and protective side to them, huh?”
Taichi/Takato: “You like the smart ones, able to handle a computer in their sleep, who may lose themselves in what’s in front of them and have a kinda difficult relationship with themselves, so they have to come to terms with who they are, but they are thoughtful and kind and the most supportive souls, huh?”
So it’s absolutely no surprise that I believe that these four would get along pretty well. As mentioned above, Koushirou and Jenrya would definitely bond over technology and their theories about the different types of Digital Worlds they have encountered - Also, their partners are mischievous little blobs of fluff I would love to squeeze and cuddle. On the other hand, I can definitely see Taichi and Takato bond over food/cooking (ESPECIALLY GUILMON/AGUMON BREAD!)... And let’s be real, Takato, having watched and loved Digimon himself, would be completely starstruck to meet the original goggleboy in person.
As much as I cried happy tears back in the day when Tri was announced, I also would have loved to have a Tamers sequel - and a crossover like this would have made me squeal in absolute delight. Speaking of Tri, I drew Taichi (17) and Koushirou (16) in their Digimon Adventure Tri Stageplay outfits, since I will never be able to not rant about how much I love it.
Bonus: I might also draw Sora/Ruki bonding with each other at some point, because - come on, two firece and amazing redheads who defy gender stereotypes, have an interesting relationship with their mothers and fashion and also regularly have to keep their male friends in check? Plus, Takato/Jenrya/Ruki were basically my very first OT3 (with Jenruki being by 2nd favourite Tamers ship after Jenkato) and it’s not that hard to find parallels between them and Taikoura as well (since Taiora is also my 2nd favourite Taichi ship after Taishirou).
In reference to my Digimon - Ace Attorney AU, which isn’t really an AU at all. I should have made this earlier and posted it with my original post, but I didn’t think of it until now. Anyway, here’s Iori Hida, Ace Attorney and Armadimon, Ace Assistant!
One of the prompts for today was “Headcanons” so I thought I’d share one I’ve had for awhile (though it’s more of a “theory” than a straight up headcanon)
So in the english dub of Digimon Adventure its stated by Gennai that Apocalymon created the Dark Masters, however this statement is absent from the original Japanese version. There also exists an official novelization, which implies the Dark Masters weren’t even aware of his existence.
So where DID they come from? Did they just evolve like normal Digimon, or is there something more unusual about their existence?
Well, looking at their offical profiles in the V-Pets, there is some interesting things of note. Here is a bit from Piemon’s: “ A strange-looking and elusive Demon Man Digimon that is completely shrouded in mystery. Demon Man Digimon have many mysterious qualities, and since Demon- and Undead-species are basically beings from another dimension, their true forms are not totally understood.”
Now obviously these profiles aren’t canon to every continuity - In the games, for example, Piemon can evolve from other digimon like normal. But given that Piemon in Adventure is so mysterious and powerful, it seems quite possible he came from another dimension. Additionally, this “coming from another dimension” thing is canon for another Adventure character - Wizarmon. The novelization of Adventure states that Wizarmon was exiled from his home dimension for reading a forbidden book, even stating that the composition of his body was changed to resemble a life size doll (meaning, like Piemon, his original form was unknown.) Wizarmon’s official Digimon profiles states that world was “Witchelny”.
Several other Digimon are mentioned to come from Witchelny as well, and most of those Digimon, including Wizarmon, are classified as “Demon Man” type Digimon - same type as Piemon. So its very possible Piemon and Wizarmon came from the same world!
As for the other three Dark Masters, well, its worth noting that unlike Piemon, the other three resemble artificial constructs in form. So its possible Piemon made them
Pinocchimon was stated in his profile to have been “Built from the body of a cursed Jyuriemon.” I’ve even seen some other fans suggest it was the same Jyureimon that showed up in the anime, which might explain why he was one of the only minions that was actually loyal to Pinocchimon. We know that Piemon has a bunch of strange abilities - incuding turning humans into keychains. If he can do something that crazy who’s to say he can’t make Digimon out of parts of another Digimon?
Speaking of which, a Digimon made out of parts of another Digimon is literally what Mugendramon is - He has Megadramon’s head and right arm, MetalTyrannomon’s lower jaw, MetalGreymon’s right arm, MetalMamemon’s ‘Psycho Blasters’ on his back and even Andromon helmets as Kneecaps.
In his first appearance in the Digimon World game he was created by a human scientist called Analogman (Btw, in the game Analogmon resided on infinity mountain. Mugen means infinity. So Mugendramon was named after the mountain. However, given that Analogman doesn’t exist in the Anime’s continuity, perhaps he was made by Piemon instead? In one episode, Piemon is sipping brandy watching Mugendramon chase the kids and Piemon starts bragging about how the kids don’t stand a chance and Mugendramon is walking engine of destruction - maybe he was boasting about his own creation?
As for MetalSeadramon, well, he’s a cyborg Digimon, so he can’t have been completely been made from scratch but he’s notably different from the Seadramon and MegaSeadramon we see in the anime who are more feral and instinct driven. The official profile for Seadramon even states it has no intelligence, though the one for MegaSeadramon says its slightly smarter - which lines up with the anime actually, since would have had to have at least some intelligence to follow Vamdemon to the real world, but it seems strange for MetalSeadramon to be as smart and talkative as he is - Digimon levels designate power, not intelligence (See Pinocchimon and MetalEtemon for how immature an ultimate level Digimon can be.)
Additionally, MetalSeadramon is a Data attribute Digimon, not a Virus - theres no reason to think a Seadramon would necessarily be that malicious and power hungry if they gained human level intelligence. However, if it was a normal MegaSeadramon modified by a Virus type that would explain a lot about MetalSeadramon’s behavior.
Basically, its possible that not only is Piemon from some other dimension (possibly Witchelny) he may very well have created the other three Dark Masters
A/N: Welcome to @digiweek! This little ficlet kicks off things and takes place when Taichi is a wee toddler. Writing that vantage point was a change of pace of what I usually write, so I hope I captured his childlike mindset, while still staying true to the Taichi we know and love. The sibling relationship between Taichi and Hikari is one of my favorites, so I wanted to highlight the beautiful moment when he meets his baby sister for the first time. <3
Adventure 1999 Universe | Taichi's POV | Word Count: 1,522
Taichi stopped in the middle of the hallway, pulling his hand away from his dad’s. Nothing made sense. He didn’t know where he was, and his toddler mind absorbed too many sights, too many sounds, too many smells all at once. The lights above were too bright, and he squinted to make sense of the people...no, strangers, that ran back and forth in funny costumes with green or white gloves and masks covering everything except their eyes that darted back and forth. Taichi thought this was odd because it wasn’t anywhere near Halloween, and even if it was, these weren’t animal or superhero masks, and why would anyone wear anything else?
His neck hurt from looking up at the looming figures, most of them rushing without noticing the boy with unruly hair, but if one happened to look down at him, it was an unfriendly stare, like finding a bug in the kitchen where it didn’t belong. Taichi shrank, trying to drone out their voices calling out to each other, yelling over the series of buzzes, beeps, and hums that seemed to come from nowhere and everywhere all at once. The smell was the worst, burning his nose all the way up to his head and making his legs wobble. Breathing scratched his throat, and he pulled at his shirt collar. In a haze, he plopped to the ground, sitting criss-cross-applesauce, waiting for his dad to react. It wasn’t good behavior, but Taichi didn’t care. He was confused. All he knew was that he wasn’t at home. Home smelled safe like warm blankets and marshmallows, not sickly sharp with so many unfamiliar and hidden faces.
“Taichi,” his dad said in the same voice he used when Taichi refused to stop playing at the park. “Mama’s just around the corner. Don’t you want to see her and your baby sister?”
He did want to see his mom. She had gone away and Taichi missed her. Then his dad left and Taichi stayed at home with his grandma and grandpa. He wanted to go too, but everyone told him to wait. Taichi hated waiting. It was always “Wait for your turn” or “Wait until Dad comes home from work,” and recently it had been “Wait for the baby to come.”
Both his mom and dad talked about the baby for what felt like forever, and he didn’t understand all the fuss. He had seen babies at the park. They were small and didn’t do much. Not like Taichi, who loved to run through the playground as fast as he could and feel the wind against his face until his cheeks turned bright red.
But there was something different about this baby. It was his, in a way. At night, before his mom tucked him into bed, she would point at her belly and guide Taichi’s hands on top because that was where the baby lived. Sometimes he felt a push, and in return, he would tap gently to say hello, hoping that the baby would know him. He sang his favorite rhymes with his mouth pressed against his mom’s belly and colored pictures of soccer balls that he taped to her shirt as presents.
“You’re going to be the best big brother in the whole world,” his mom said to him many times, and while Taichi didn’t understand, he heard the praise in her tone and held his chin high and mighty.
He wondered if the baby, or sister, or whatever it was called, was finally going to live with them at home. That would be weird but maybe not the worst thing. He could teach it how to play games and they could laugh together.
Still. Fear nipped at him, though he would never let anyone know that. He was Taichi Yagami, so that meant he wasn’t afraid of anything, not jumping off swings or climbing up slides or even thunderstorms, so he faked a giant yawn. Since he had mastered the art of negotiation, especially with his dad, who was usually in a hurry and not willing to put up a fight, he lifted his arms and said “Up!” as a girl with a black cord around her neck like a snake stepped around him.
“You’re causing a scene,” his dad said with his hands on his hips.
“No, you are,” Taichi said, crossing his arms and scrunching his nose.
“Alright, alright, you win.”
Taichi grinned as his dad plucked him off the floor. He always won. The view was better too. People were less scary from up there now that he could see them from the same level. One even smiled and waved at him, and he flapped his fingers back.
“What’s a sister?” he asked.
“Well,” he hummed. “A sister is special.”
“Why?”
“She’ll be your best friend.”
“Oh...why?”
“No matter what happens, you two will be there for each other. You’ll laugh together, play together, probably fight together, but even after everything, you’ll still love each other.”
“Why?”
“Taichi,” his dad grumbled. “Because she’s your sister and you’re her brother.” He looked at Taichi’s furrowed brows and sighed. “It’ll make sense when you’re older.”
They turned down another hallway and his dad pushed open a door into a room that was dim, though not dark.
“Mama!”
Taichi didn’t hear the multiple shushes. He was too busy scrambling around, flinging himself out of his dad’s grasp and back onto his feet. He ran to the side of the bed, hoisting himself up and cradling himself against her shoulder. She was warm and melted into him, popping kisses all over his face, and brushing his bushy hair, and Taichi had to pretend he didn’t like it, which only encouraged her to give more.
“Missed you,” he said.
“I missed you too. My brave little boy. Except not so little anymore. You’re a big brother.”
Those words again. Big brother. Taichi didn’t feel very big, not tucked under his mom’s arm as he was.
“Do you want to hold your sister?” she asked.
“Idunno,” he mumbled in a single breath.
“Why don’t you look at her first and see what you think?”
His mom pointed over to his dad, who was holding what looked like a bundle of blankets, but when he sat down in the chair next to the bed, Taichi saw a tiny, sleeping face peeking out. For a moment, he doubted whether she was real or a stuffed doll. He scooted up to the edge and tilted his ear towards her, hearing soft inhales. He smiled without understanding why and reached his hand out to the top of the baby’s head, running his fingers through her thin wisps of hair.
“This is your little sister,” his dad said. “Her name is Hikari.”
“Hika,” Taichi repeated.
“Let’s hold her together,” his mom said. “But you have to be quiet.”
Taichi nodded, shuffling back so that he sat in between his mom’s side and her arm. He held his breath as his dad lowered the baby into his lap, but certainly not because he was afraid. He just wasn’t sure what to expect, but like he had snuggled into his mom, Hikari nestled into him, sound asleep like he was the coziest bed in the world.
“I’m Taichi,” he said in a poor attempt at a whisper.
Hikari squirmed, her balled up fists wiggling around as her eyelids squished together. Taichi stiffened. If there was one thing he knew about babies, it was that they cried. A lot. Her mouth opened, and he looked away, bracing for the wail, but all he heard was a gentle gurgle. He peeked around and saw that Hikari was looking up at him with big eyes, full of light, that reminded him of sunshine on his bare skin and perfectly toasted bread with butter.
Taichi didn’t want her to cry. Not because it would bother him, but because he didn’t want her to be scared or upset. Hikari yawned, her eyes fluttering closed again.
Taichi couldn’t stop looking at her, absorbing everything about her from her button nose to her two chubby, pink cheeks and her pursed lips that reminded him of his mom when she was trying to remember something important. Did she dream about playgrounds and rolling in the grass like he did? Did she dream at all? Would she like chocolate or vanilla ice cream better? Taichi didn’t understand much, things like sister and brother and family bonds were concepts too great for him to grasp, but love? That was a feeling he received and gave. Love was his mom’s smile when she helped him put on his sneakers and love was his dad blowing a kiss on scraped knees. Love was also the way Taichi hugged his dad fiercely before bedtime, begging him to read him one more story and it was holding his mom’s hand in the grocery store because she was his home, she was safe. Both his parents were. They knew everything about him.
Taichi wanted that for Hikari. For her to feel like he was her home.
"Why do you love Digimon? Why do you love it until now?"
Hard to resume! Digimon is easily the franchise that most influenced me in life - not always necessarily the series, games or the characters themselves, but mostly in the sense that it was through Digimon that I got to meet amazing people, grow long term friendships and develop personal virtues/qualities, aside from reinforcing my beliefs, positivity and attitudes.
I have good times with friends through the games (because even to get stressed in Digimon Masters Online we did it together 😂 not to mention the general agreement that Neemon is too overpowered in Digimon Rumble Arena 2 so we all collectively attack him first and only then we start the match between ourselves ASHUAHSUAHSUAHSUA).
I had the chance to have lots of fun cosplaying as Takuya Kanbara, from Digimon Frontier.
I made friendships that are at least one decade old by now or very soon.
I have received gifts and encouragement to keep going with my art. I also have given gifts and encouraged other artists, who in turn also gifted and encouraged other artists, starting up a supportive solidarity chain. In truth, it became a common thing to trade gifts between some of us already, sometimes the postman calls up on our front door and we go there to receive the package already with a smile, knowing that distance doesn't matter when you have the digital world to keep in touch with your friends and reach out sending and receiving gifts via mail.
Digimon gives me the opportunity to live an INFINITE DREAM, AN ENDLESS TALE. Makes me understand that we are THE BIGGEST DREAMERS, to NEVER GIVE UP because we got a FIRE power, we can make WISHES to SHOOTING STARS and KEEP ON with our adventure, feeling that OUR WIND WILL BLOW TOMORROW with our BRAVE HEARTS, BREAKING UP the barriers that block our way so we can finally reach our life TARGETS. See what I did here? Heh 😅
Digimon is a great franchise and I am eternally grateful for this dream come true.

Day 7 of the @digiweek
Title: The Prom
Summary: Sora, Mimi and Hikari get ready together for Taichi, Yamato and Sora's graduation ceremony.
Pairings: Sora/Yamato; Mimi/Jou; Takeru/Hikari
PS: I enjoyed writing this one a lot, so there's a very high chance I make a better and longer version of it in the next few days.
The apartment was really noisy that afternoon. The radio was on and there was some happiness screaming sometimes. Sora, Mimi and Hikari were about to get ready for a graduation ceremony. Sora was probably the most nervous girl among them, as it was her own graduation from high school, as well as Yamato and Taichi's. Each one of them had invited another Destined Children for the ceremony, so the eight teenagers were attending to the event later that day.
There was a lot of makeup stuff spread all over Mimi's bedroom. Sora looked at it astonished.
"Wow, Mimi! You have so many make up things! I kinda feel jealous because I only have basic make up."
"Me too."
"Most of them I got as birthday presents I believe." Mimi shrugged. "You two can pick whatever stuff you want from here. Some things I barely use anyway."
"Thank you." Hikari and Sora said at the same time.

What’s your favourite songs/background music/sounds from Digimon?
I love Digimon and its variety of soundtracks, but I'll settle on my top 3 soundtrack from all Digimon anime franchise:
3. "WE ARE Xros Heart! (WE ARE クロスハート!)" by Kouji Wada — from Digimon Xros Wars
This is a song that oftentimes can be heard throughout all of Xros Wars seasons. I love how catchy evolution slash fight music is for Digimon, and We Are Xros Heart! is a fine example of that. It's a rather simple but nevertheless a catchy song, possibly thanks to the everlasting voice of the late Kouji Wada.
2. "Break the Chain" by Takayoshi Tanimoto — from Digimon Adventure:
Continuation of the upbeat catchy evolution slash fight music listing brings us Break the Chain from the newest Digimon anime, a reboot of the original Adventure series. While this new series may have some serious lackings, the soundtrack is amazing, and its leader is definitely Break the Chain, a song that never left my ears once I heard it.
1. Hirogaru Fuan — from Digimon Adventure [1999]
The first and the foremost of all Digimon anime. The original Adventure series. Digimon Adventure from 1999 is the winner among all contestants of great Digimon soundtracks. There is just nothing quite like the solo songs and the instrumentals Adventure has. Of course, I couldn't not pick a track from this series as my favourite. Adventure instrumentals were perfectly arranged for the show, and Hirogaru Fuan is not excluded. I definitely recommend giving it a listen.
