ᨓ 。Albedo helps your daughter with her science project.
The atmosphere of the living room was lively, with the TV playing a random movie in the background, the coffee table filled to the brim with different paints from Albedo's study, a model volcano made of papier-mâché in the middle, and two plates of dinner still in the process of being eaten.
You laid back on the couch, a blanket on your lap, mostly focused on the movie playing, glancing at Albedo and Solenne every couple of minutes, the family cat Redo making biscuits on the blanket, his black tail whipping back and forth.
Solenne really took after Albedo in the looks department, harboring the same pale blonde locks and round teal eyes as your husband. Nine months in your womb just to birth a clone..
Speaking of the dad and daughter duo, they were busy working on Solenne's school project that was due on Monday. Albedo was mixing the perfect volcanic grey color, because of course, the grey paint Albedo had just had to dry out just when it was most needed, but good thing your husband was resourceful and great at color theory.
Solenne was painting the top of the volcano structure with a fiery red color to make it look like it was erupting.
Redo on your lap let out a little meow, head bumping your stomach with love before hopping off the couch, making his way over to Solenne.
His fuzzy little black head rubs against her leg, letting out a quiet “Mreow~”
“Hey, Redo..” Solenne chuckles, setting her paintbrush down on the table, her hand about to touch his fur before she remembers she has red paint all over and flips it over, stroking his silky black fur on his rear end with the back of her hand.
Redo then got bored of her a couple of seconds later, trotting off to probably stuff his little face with his premium wet food. (He deserves only the best.)
“How rude.” Solenne scoffs before picking up the paintbrush to continue her blending.
A couple minutes passed, Albedo finished up mixing the colors, grabbing his own paintbrush, helping to paint the volcano with his daughter, his strokes way more precised than Solenne's which were messy and quick.
Redo had made his way back into the room, now showing sudden interest in the coffee table and the contents on it.
Redo was a pretty smart cat overall, he knew he wasn't allowed on the countertops, the dining table, or the coffee table. But apparently all his spray bottle training went right out the window, and he just hopped up on the cluttered coffee table, immediately knocking over paint bottles.
Everyone yelps in unison around the room, Solenne jumps to her feet to save the volcano, while you and Albedo try and shoo Redo off the table.
Your flailing arms seemed to scare him and he just meticulously put each of his paws into four different kinds of wet paint Albedo had out, getting some clumped up in his long butt hairs and tail as well.
He frantically squirmed and wiggled around the table before hopping right back onto the floor, leaving a trail of colored cat footprints to clean up later.
Albedo managed to scoop him up before he could escape upstairs and wreak even more havoc.
“Oh my Archons..” You pant, out of breath, planting your hands on your knees, completely spent.
“..That was very uncalled for, Redo..” Albedo sighs, holding the squirmy little ball of fur close to him so he couldn’t escape.
“Is your project alright?” You ask, looking back at Solenne who nods in response, “It's fine.."
You look back at Redo who looked like a child who just got caught with their hands (or paws, in this case) in the cookie jar without permission.
"You are in so much trouble, young man.” You scold him, with no real heat behind your words, taking him from Albedo, starting towards the bathroom to draw a bath for the little troublemaker.
Albedo watched you disappear into the bathroom down the hall with a nod, looking back at the floor and the smudges, before retreating into the kitchen to whip up a concoction like the true alchemist he is.
Solenne quietly giggled to herself about what just went down, and cleaned up the spilled paint bottles, before continuing the work on her project.
By bedtime, you have a brand new looking floor, a finished science project, and a soggy grumpy black cat wrapped in a burrito designed towel.
