I've been collecting seeds from my homegrown dill since last year. It's nice to have fresh spices, and dill has got to be one of the easiest seed crops to grow and harvest: all you have to do is let some dill herb go to seed.
I compared this year's crop to last year's:
It's subtle, but 2024's crop has smaller, thinner seeds comparatively. 2023's seeds are more plump and full.
Now, whether this is due to how I harvested, the weather, my neglectful gardening style, or micro-evolution as I used 2023's seeds for 2024's crop... hard to say. But it's interesting that there is a (slight) visual difference between the two harvests.
Carrots in Dill Butter Butter and dill seed are gently simmered with carrots.
