wrapping your arms around diluc and screaming into his chest when you're frustrated.
vs
going out to the wild and breaking things while learning new and exciting ways to swear with the wanderer before having a breakdown and him giving you the space to talk it out when you're ready.
A thought for you, Diluc meeting his darling when they were knights together when they were younger but when his dad dies and he leaves but only comes back to see his darling is now a high ranking offical and he panics, what if she gets hurt? She isn’t cut out for this sort of thing. So now he is torn, he can’t let her get hurt but it’s not like he can just pull her out of the knights, can he?
He plays hero in the dark.
Maybe cause the dark obscures beauty and beauty is the last thing he needs right now.
Maybe he's a bit too scared to see too clearly.
Besides everything looks better in the dark.
Diluc doesn't thrive in order, he prefers solitude. The quiet of the estate away from town. The calm of the tavern during closing hours.
The solitude is safe.
Away from fickle lovers and family secrets.
He sees you in the dead of day. Standing outside the tavern with your brigade. Dressed in that loathsome armor with the sun's rays bouncing off the silver metal.
Gleaming.
Bright.
A beacon of hope in every way.
Diluc swallows his anger, his astound. There really shouldn't be room for surprise, it was to be expected. You had trained with him, fought alongside him. Captain is the lowest rank you should have by now
Still, you are not ready for such duty, such burdens.
You must taste experience, bite it, and let the crumbs mar the corners of your lips. You can not simply know by hearing tales of others' endeavors. They are as pointlessly purposeful as the stars. Distant lights you can never understand.
And Diluc refuses to see you as anything more than the little girl who'd drag him to the lake to hunt turtles.
Jejune in every way.
Diluc is not careless, he is not reckless.
The young boy who used to rush headfirst into everything be it battles or turtle hunts, died the same night his father did. The man born of his ashes, is scrupulous, vigilant. He calculates every mistake before attacking.
He lets you see him in the dark. Masked vigilante stalking the streets while you do your patrols. He leads you through the streets, weaving through the nooks and crannies of the cramped port city.
He wonders if this is how the turtles by the lake felt all so many years ago.
"Halt" You're voice holds authority now, no longer airy and melodic. It makes him discomfited.
He leaps past the high walls of the city, disappearing amongst the threes. He sees you cease at the threshold of the bridge. Defeat painted across your tender lips.
The game has ended.
At least for tonight.
He plays hero in the dark.
Dancing as he blocks your attacks.
Metal sings metal as sword and claymore clash.
The nostalgia seeps through no matter how hard he struggles, the familiar hyms of weapons clashing. Your taut frown of concentration. He's drowning in his crush again.
But is such a fickle thing really capable of throttling a man such as he?
Maybe this is truly love?
It's a sparse moment. He's too caught up in you, how tall you've gotten, how astute your stance has become. You've grown. But he still hears your sweet voice ringing across the north winds.
He doesn't notice the hilt of your sword until it's pounded against his skull. Since when have you learned such dirty tricks? His head buzzes on impact, the mask clashing violently on the ground.
The night is still.
But the beating of his heart is far too loud.
"Dily?
You're sword falls, face torn between shock and laughter. "You're the Darknight hero?"
He doesn't answer right away. He lets you laugh and ponder. Lets you come up with your own answers. He's about to interject. Throw some comment about being on opposite sides. But you beat him to the punchline. "Well, I guess I still got to take you in..."
"That's unfortunate, I can't say I'm particularly fond of being arrested by a Favonius knight."
"Captain" You correct and the pride flashing across your face makes him burn in anger. No, no you're not.
You approach him, carless and intrepid. Plucky steps as you reach for the cuffs on your belt. Diluc can't help but roll his eyes. Really? Has being made a captain taught you nothing?
Shouldn't you be more jaded? Wry of any potential threats.
Well, he guesses it must be hard to think of the boy who talks to his pet turtle as a threat.
The blaze from his vision washes over you, painting the night into a faux dawn. The fire melts through your body, peeling the flesh of your arm.
The Darknight hero stands tall amidst the inferno. Eyes aflame with the delicate sight of you.
Diluc licks the embers from his fingers as you cradle your burnt hand.
He didn't mean to do this, but he needs to stun you, he needs you to submit. Gingerly he picks you up, cradling your body close. He can't wait to get you home and burn away that dreaded armor. To dress you in soft silks and precious jewels.
"You're really not cut out for this knight thing. But it's fine I'll keep you safe"
He's only met with soft whimpers as he scales the back walls and dashes towards the winery.
Diluc plays hero in the dark.
And he still believes that.
Even as he opens the door to his mansion.
With you sobbing from pain in his arms.
He is a hero.
And heroes are meant to keep people safe.
Especially helpless little girls who try to play knight.
cw: not sfw, minors dni, mdni. this is just a rambly thought. subby diluc? oral(r.receiving), no pronouns used.
diluc is very good with his mouth. imagine him going on and on about something, maybe he's lecturing you about wandering off too far or something. or he's grumbling about some business partner, whatever it is, sometimes the man hyperfixates on the smallest issues until it makes him anxious.
imagine telling him, in the ever kindest voice you could, for him to focus on something else. something better while pushing on his shoulder so he gets on his knees.
you love listening to him talk, really, you do. and you love when he opens up to you about his day, his interests, but his anxieties make him pace, make him lose a bit of focus. you coo at him and tell him that you love him, you do, in all his ways but to take a deep breath and focus. and you can see hunger in his eyes.
and he's very good with his mouth, quickly putting it to work and letting his troubles melt away between your legs.
Seriously, a menstrual cramp is common for you, it happens whenever it is your month. You prefer to stay at home than usually stroll outside the Winery, with the help of the maids, they come to aid you whenever you call for them.
Especially Adelinde, she stays close and her ears basically all over the house just to wait for your call. She's too kind that you sometimes worry if the head maid is getting any rest, but knowing Diluc, your husband, he randomly gives the day off to his workers.
But back to your crisis, here you are resting on the bed, curled up into a ball as you hug your pillow to try and suppress the pain in your lower stomach as the pain cramps fails to go away. It is the first day, you wonder the next if you could handle it or ask for the maid to bring you a pill, but as stubborn as your husband, you never drink one.
Unless you faint from the pain, which happened just months ago that causes panic within the Dawn Winery.
Diluc steps inside the room and you didn't even notice him until the side of the bed weights due to his sitting. You didn't turn to face him and remain silent.
"My love, are you alright?" He asks in a soft tone, leaning over to get a look at your current situation. He wore a worried face and the thought of you passing out again scares him, he was not in the house when you fainted back then due to a meeting with the guild, and you understand and told him multiple times it is alright.
Now you have a husband at home whenever you have a period, he refuses to leave to take care of the business and instead passes it to Elzer who takes it without second thoughts.
You shake your head as your stomach aches once more, tightening your hold on the pillow.
Diluc sighs and lays beside you, hugging you from behind. "Come closer, I'll use my palm to lessen the cramp." He offers.
With his pyro vision, Diluc carefully infuses his hand to act as a heating pad and you let his hand drift under your clothes, he caresses the lower part of your stomach and you sigh with the warmth.
"Feel better?"
You hummed, placing your own hand above his.
With the comfort of his presence as well as the hand on your lower abdomen, you feel drifting back to sleep despite waking up just three hours ago. Due to the period cramp, you had to eat inside the bedroom despite your protest, afraid to stain the sheet but Diluc insists you eat in bed.
Despite hurting, you tried to act as if it never hurt. He finds it cute as well as admired you, but at the same time, he worries that something might've happened if you force yourself.
"You know," He uttered beside your ear, causing you to stir from almost drifting back to dreamland. You let out a grunt as a response, "I have another solution for it to disappear."
"And what is it?" You asked, tiredness evident in your voice.
"Put a baby in you."
You pinch his hand that makes him laugh, flinching from the pain but nonetheless finds it humorous.
"Don't talk like that Mr.Ragnvindr. I am not in the best shape to think things over." You glare at the window, refusing to look at him as the redness spread across your cheeks from the thought of your desires.
"I'm sorry. But hey, for nine months you won't get to experience—"
"Diluc, I swear I will kick you out." You tighten your hold to the pillow and try to suppress the thought of him making love with you.
"Alright, Alright. I'll stop." He chuckles and buries his face on your nape, giving featherlight kisses that make you shiver.
"I'll take care of you, so just rest, Darling." The last thing you've heard before you successfully drifted off to sleep.

diluc month!!! i love this man and i wish to squish his cheeks between my hands. tbh for as much as i love to imagine him suave, i feel like he's the type to long and pine before awkwardly try to romance someone. i'm sorry for the length of this fic, i got carried away.
Diluc is a gentleman, he is known for his polite way of talking, and perhaps his standoff-ish personality but he is, all around, a gentleman. Raised in nobility, Diluc was taught how to behave and act accordingly, even if he found some of the rules to be stifling. He remembers his father once telling him that there are even proper and acceptable way to court someone (man or woman, so long as he did it properly, it would be alright).
He never listened to those rules much because he always figured he wouldn't need to court someone, after all, arranged marriages were still very common and everyone had assumed he and Jean would be marrying each other (until she turned down his spur of the moment marriage proposal with a polite smile and multiple apologies). After his father died, Diluc had decided that his life was too dangerous to bring someone else into it. Nobody has seen the hell he'd seen and he wishes to keep it that way.
Until you came into the picture, your smile rivaling the sun and your laugh infectious. You came here from Fontaine, is what you explained, showing your encased Vision. You worked for The Steambird for awhile but decided to move back to your late parents home nation of Mondstadt, because your father had always spoke so wistfully of it. So, you'd quit your nice and cushy reporter job and joined the Adventurer's Guild and are now able to work at its branch in Mondstadt.
He'd memorized every detail you shared with him, because you were just so fascinating to him. Diluc hated the way Kaeya's arm slung around your shoulders as if the two of you have been buddies your entire lives. Rosaria barely graces you with attention, simply electing to enjoy her drink with two extroverts intent on disrupting her peaceful night. You do not care for any rude putdown, allowing it all to roll off your shoulders.
When Kaeya becomes too drunk - supposedly - to carry on a decent conversation with you, Diluc picks up the slack. It's awkward and uncomfortable at first. Your name is sweet in his mouth, he tastes it and swirls it around some and fears that if he speaks it, he may taint it.
Interacting with you was a different level for him, it was strange because you were the first one in his life to make him lose his footing, make him lose his breath, and make him nervous. But not in the same way Adelinde makes him nervous when she places her hands on his hips and gives him a disapproving stare when he tracks blood and mud on her clean floors, not in the way Jean makes him nervous when she challenges some of his more intense ideals. This nervous was different, like if he messes up, that's it. His words are carefully chosen, he practices your name every morning, trying to get used to saying it in hopes that if he sees you around, he can call out to you like it's a normal, every day occurance.
And he does see you around sometimes, in the green uniform assigned by the Adventurer's Guild (truly, you would look much better in the clothes he could provide if you were his-) but you're always too busy to stop and engage in conversation. This does not stop you from waving at him, acknowledging his presence when he accidentally stops and stares for a little bit too long. Sometimes he gawks like a teenage boy and he can't help himself.
Diluc is a gentleman, he knows better than to have thoughts about you - it feels wrong when you creep into his mind too late at night and leave him wanting. His hand around his cock, his fingers working quick as he guiltily thinks what you might look like undone because of him. Wonders what you might taste like, how your legs would quiver around his shoulders while his tongue laps hungrily at your folds, and wonders what you'd sound like when you call out his name in desperation.
When those nights happen, he can't even look at you in the eyes when he sees you next. Diluc knows all of this is normal, but it doesn't feel normal for him.
He has your favorite drink memorized - you aren't a heavy drinker, alcohol wasn't much of a thing in Fontaine unlike coffee and tea. So, always one drink, nothing heavy, but it you like it sweet and fruity. Unlike Kaeya, he lets you have a free drink every once in awhile, tries to relish in the way you look at him with wide eyes and a bright smile. Tries to ignore the way his heart pounds and his breath quickens when you thank him. (You could ask him for the entire world and he will try to get it for you)
Diluc tries to recall all the lessons his father gave him on romance and dating, realizes that many of those lessons are a bit outdated and perhaps, would not work on someone like you. He considers asking Adelinde before deciding that he didn't want the third degree from his head housemaid (who is more like a mother to him).
So, he elects to watch you from afar - learn your likes and dislikes because talking to you is somehow harder than fighting a Mirror Maiden or being involved with a particularly difficult business partner.
And it dawns on him how stupidly mundane and normal it is to have a crush on someone. Diluc wasn't ever sure he was capable of normal. He can't do things normally and he's come to accept this at some point.
By some happenstance, he learns of your favorite flower and orders a bunch of them to be sent to you - anonymously, of course. Although, he wishes he could have your attention when they arrive at your doorstep from Fontaine, wondering if you're happy to receive them or not.
"Someone sent me flowers," you mention to him, one evening. Lately, you've been coming around more and more without Kaeya with you. You've made your own little group of friends here, easily fitting right in and he always tries to imagine where his place would be in your group of friends and it always spirals to him as your partner, your beloved. Your husband. "The note that came with it was very sweet, but I wish that it wasn't anonymous so I could thank them. I've been missing Fontaine recently."
Diluc swallows the lump in his throat, clears his throat - a strange nervous habit he has.
"Would that not take the romance out of it?" When you give him a strange look, he feels his face grow a bit hot. "I mean, I hear some of the maids talk about how they'd love to have a secret admirer, something about it being more romantic."
"Master Diluc," you gasp. "Are you, perhaps, a secret fan of romance novels?"
"Did I not just tell you I only hear these things from the maids?"
You smile a bit. "You're hard to tease, you know that?"
"My apologies." You blink, confused and he clears his throat again. "So, who do you think might have sent you those flowers?"
You open your mouth to say something, possibly another teasing comment before deciding against it. "I'm not sure," you admit. "I don't often have romantic entanglements. I had one partner back in Fontaine and it ended up as a disaster. We were colleagues and it was so stupid." You sigh. "He was never the type to buy me flowers."
Diluc makes note that he will spoil you proper with flowers when you become his.
After a few weeks, he orders you another batch of flowers - this time a mix of your favorite and another common flower from Fontaine. Rainbow Rose, pretty pink roses that he pictures would liven up the manor, and be in abundance at the wedding the two of you could have.
No, he has to tell himself. You can't get that far.
"What is on your mind tonight?" Diluc asks as he makes your favorite drink. You look at him, as if trying to read him. "That secret admirer of yours again?"
"Yeah. Flowers, again." You say. "No note this time, which is disappointing." You rub your forehead. "Master Diluc, what would you do if you have the feeling some anonymous person was trying to court you?" Diluc gets the feeling you're fishing for answers.
"That has never been a concern of mine." He tells you. "Most women who try to catch my attention are never discreet about it."
"You make it sound like that's the worst possible thing in the world."
"If they were not doing this simply so their fathers could secure a better business deal with the Dawn Winery, I suppose I wouldn't mind it." He doesn't dislike it but none of those women ever really hold his attention, although he's entertained a few of them in his time, the courting never went beyond a few meetings before they'd decide he just wasn't for them.
"You don't strike me as the type to like being given that kind of attention," you admit. "Ever the evasive and strange Master Diluc. Perhaps I have you pegged all wrong."
"Oh?"
"Mm," you say as you take a sip of your drink. "Rich men tend to throw their money and power around to garner themselves a romantic partner. Honestly, it's gross."
"Well, I have never seen the point in doing so." Diluc answers, bluntly, feeling a bit insulted you'd even thought of him that way. "So tell me, then, how do you like to be courted?"
"Well, for starters, as lovely as the secret admirer thing is, I prefer if someone can actually tell me if they have feelings for me," you inform him. "Anonymous flowers once is nice, twice will have me wondering if they even respect my time."
"Ah - would you like other gifts then?"
"No - well, I don't - ugh, that's hard to answer." You push your hair back and he loves the way it falls around your face. He loves that, even though you don't get drunk, you can get a bit more relaxed and looser with your words as you drink. "I mean, I'd like if the person who is...trying to court me as you say, would just tell me and do it properly."
"I see."
"Have you never been in a romantic relationship before, Master Diluc?" Maybe you do know and he should come clean. He swallows, Adam's apple bobbling.
Once, he thinks. Jean and I had this whole fake wedding when we were kids. But that doesn't count.
"Not really, no."
"Oh."
In this moment, he desires to lean over the counter and kiss you. See what you taste like with remnants of that fruity drink on your lips, if you would get angry or if you would lean into the kiss. He desires for his hands to wander, for you to invite him to touch you even further -
"Aw, drinking without me, my delightful friend?"
"Evening, Captain."
"Kaeya."
Diluc is a gentleman, and he is quite the heartbreaker, he knows this. He'd sent many noble women crying by accident - rejection hurts or his indifference is worse. Adelinde would scold him many times for it, reminding him that he should still be considerate of their feelings. But it's never his fault that they get upset for being told he's not interested.
With you, he has fantasized about kissing you, dramatic love confessions (because apparently those are a thing in romance novels from what he's heard Hillie and Mocco say as they worked), or just simply telling you, but it feels wrong to simply confess.
This pining is getting him nowhere, and he worries about sending you more flowers and earning your ire instead.
So, at the advice of Adelinde - after he tried to lamely claim it was Kaeya who was looking for the advice - he starts to write you letters. Many, but none quite fit what he feels. He can give you all the flowery words in the world, but they are not succinct enough. Diluc isn't exactly the best at words, not like Kaeya, who can have both men and women swooning very quickly. He's always held the attention and engagement of crowds and Diluc finds himself envious of that.
Finally, he elects to do something so stupidly simple.
He writes you a letter in the dead of night, exhausted from a days work, requesting if he could court you properly this time around. And he sends it.
Because of course he did.
Because that's what a proper gentleman should do, right?
You are late for your weekly visit to his tavern, and Diluc finds himself wishing he had Charles manning the bar tonight instead of him. Though why should he be acting like a lovesick schoolboy? He is a grown man.
An hour goes by, and you're not in your usual spot and he fears he may have driven you off with that letter that never should have been sent in the first place.
When you do finally arrive, it's an hour before closing and you look beat. But your smile, when you see him, is still as radiant as the sun (though perhaps that's him imagining things, he doesn't know anymore).
"You're...late." Diluc observes as you half slump in your seat, bag dropping to your side. "Are you okay?" Perhaps you haven't read his letter and that's why everything is almost relatively normal.
"I'm okay," you finally answer as he starts to make your drink. "Sorry I'm here an hour before you close, it's been a long day."
He sets the glass down in front of you. "Do you wish to talk about it?"
"Tsarvitch is such an asshole," you grumble. "Tsarvitch? More like Tsarbitch."
"Yes, I hear he can be a bit difficult." You lapse into a silence, watching him. "Do you wish to talk about something else?" You reach down, grabbing your bag and pulling out an envelope with the Winery's wax seal in blue. He has to look away.
"I received this letter from the Dawn Winery," you tell him, pointing to the blue wax seal and the return address. You pull the letter out of the envelope, and it's clear you've read it multiple times since he sent it a week ago. "From someone asking if they could properly court me." He doesn't want to look at the contents of that letter, he was deliriously tired when he wrote it. "Who, at the Dawn Winery, could have sent this?"
"I'm-"
"How come you didn't sign your name?" Diluc can't answer that. He doesn't remember what was going through his head. "My answer, though, Master Diluc, is yes. You can properly court me."
His heart pounds in his chest as he meets your eyes. Of course, the answer was so simple - Archons, why couldn't he have done this in the first place? A few whole months wasted, when he could have spent it with you in his arms.
"Are you sure? I'm-"
"I'm sure." You interrupt. It's not often someone of nobility seeks to date someone who is not a noble, but he can't help it. Diluc just hopes that they won't eat you alive, though he has a feeling you can handle your own when it comes to the more judgmental types. He may have to protect them from you.
"In that case," Diluc says, hoping he won't scare you away. "May I kiss you?"
"Always."
He delights in your answer, moving to step outside of the counter so the damn thing isn't in his way so he can fully and properly enjoy you. He cups your face between his hands, bending down some and pressing your lips together. Soft, sweet - Diluc is a selfish man sometimes and he longs for more when you break away.
You whisper something as he pulls you back in for another kiss. Your hands wrap around his shoulders and entangle in his hair. A small part of him longs to lift you up and take you on the counter, but he needs to take this slow. He is a gentleman after all, properly court before bringing you to bed with him.
Yet, you refuse to let the kiss end this time around, chasing after him.
"I want you," you whisper. "Diluc."
"No dinner first?"
"Ugh, you can make me breakfast instead." That was all he needed for him to quickly close down the tavern. Diluc is a gentleman after all, and it'd be rude to keep you waiting.
The wife of Diluc Ragnvindr.. is so beautiful that women who desire your husband envy you. Unmarried men aristocrats want you just for your beauty.
Well, too bad since Diluc Ragnvindr caught your heart first.
You don't know how the man fell in love with you, you liked him, and somehow destiny itself gave you the chance to be with him, now married and happy.
Diluc who gives you everything, you just need to ask, to voice out what you wanted and he would make sure to give it to you, you deserve it anyway.
" 'want your cock.." You begged as he continuously lapped his tongue on your pussy, your fingers curled and tug on his hair, pushing him closer till his face is buried in between your legs then pulling as if you had enough, but still, you cannot.
"Diluc." You sobbed, your back arched as he sucked on your clit, getting you closer to another release.
"Darling, just a moment ago you want me to eat you," He says, kissing your pussy as he lifts himself up. His chin is stained with your slick and lips plump and red. "want me to fuck you already?" He kissed your forehead and brushed your hair.
You whimper, nodding while you pull him close.
"I'll give it to you, but beg for it." He teased, the tip of his cock sliding up between your folds, sending shivers and your arousal making it worse as your impatience getting the best of you.
Nonetheless, you begged, pleas being thrown every word, calling his name, lowering yourself for his cock to push in to you instead of him brushing it in your pussy, coating his length with your cum and his spit.
"You're so pretty, so beautiful. Fuck.." He pushed in, your walls clenching around him as you moan of the familiar feeling of being full, his cock stretching your insides, carving himself inside of you, prepare to coat you with his cum.
"You want it, right? Shit–" He says between thrusts, you can't construct a word, too cock drunk as his tip meets your cervix each thrust, he lifts your leg for it to rest on his shoulder, kissing it as he watches you be lost and in pleasure of the way he makes you feel good.
His pace quickens, each meet of your skin causes a noise and you could tell of his nearing orgasm, he groans and as you get louder, he sealed your lips with his own as you both moan.
"Comin', I'm coming!" You moaned, while he played with your clit as you once more cum on his cock, Diluc soon followed, painting your walls with his cum moaning into your lips while he released his seed inside of you.
"Feels good.. Feel so good—" You muttered, your face mixed with tears and sweat. Diluc chuckles, "Yeah? I will give you more till you pass out.."

Character Info
It was quite a shock when Genshin Impact introduces a new character. Especially someone whose origin is from Mondstadt. They introduce us to the new character, who is also part of the Knights of Favonious. They are the Second Chief Alchemist, known as Reader, and are usually the one who has to take care of the paperwork Albedo is not obligated to submit. Not that they can force him. They managed to get someone to take over the task their Chief Alchemist does not want to do. But our new alchemist is hiding more about herself than what the lore of Genshin perceives.
However the most surprising fact that fans cannot believe is that our new character is the wife of Diluc Ragnvindr. The person who we meet during Diluc’s Second Character Story Quest that will be introduced alongside the current rerun banners. She is known to be quite blunt and cruel to the common folk. But the Knights of Favonious respect her position and the works she contributes to help the city. She often works in her office in the Headquarters and in some instances, she travels to Dragonspine to check on Albedo and to conduct her own dangerous experiments. Her story tells us more about the hidden mysteries of Teyvat, especially when you interact with her.
More about Character: Conclusion
“I feel it again. The pain that Istaroth brought to me. It brings back the memories I once lost and the unwavering feeling of betrayal she sunk into my heart. I will never forget that day. The divinity she shared with me, it consumes my soul and it breaks my body. I don't think I can control myself one day. If ever I go too far, just know you may kill me. I will always come back to the mortal plane. Something I dream to escape from.”
First Meeting
There are certain requirements to access Diluc’s Second Story Quest. One of which is Albedo’s story quest to unlock Dragonspine. It starts off with a commission request from the Acting Grand Master.
Traveler gets to know you when they finish another daily commission. The quest is triggered once you receive the rewards from Katheryne. They trigger a conversation from Katheryne who informs them that Acting Grand Master Jean requests their assistance. As soon as you arrive at the Headquarters, you converse with Jean who requests your help to locate Master Diluc. Apparently there was a physical dispute that the Knights had to break regarding the Wine merchants from Fontaine. Lisa and Kaeya come in to inform Jean that the last sighting of Diluc was that he was on his way to Dragonspine. When Traveler accepts the commission, they are accompanied by the two, surprisingly, and is quite suspicious of the innocent smile Lisa sent their way.
As they travel up along Dragonspine, they go through multiple challenges on the way. That’s when they unexpectedly bump into Diluc who is also on his way up the mountain.
“Master Diluc! Just the person we need.” Lisa purrs as she summons her book to flick a bolt of lightning to the cryo slimes surrounding the redhead. Diluc slashes the frosty monsters, trying to crowd them around. Traveler lends a hand by crowding them together with their anemo powers before Diluc deals a heavy blow of pyro in his claymore. Effectively killing all the cute slimes and stopping them from bothering them now.
“We have been looking for you,Master Diluc.” Kaeya says, keeping his sword away since the fight is over. Diluc huffs at his comment but chooses to quickly spot a nearby campfire to light it. “You’re quite the wanted man.”
“I’m not sure what you mean by that, Captain Kaeya.” He rests his claymore on the ground as he gestures for the group to huddle around the newly-lit campfire. He blows a breath into his gloved palms as he lets the warmth sink into his skin. “I’m merely on my way to fetch my wife.”
Hold up- wait a minute.
“WIFE?!” Paimon screams in disbelief while Traveler blinks in surprise. “Master Diluc, you’re married?” The only answer Traveler gets is a small chuckle from Lisa who confirms it with a growing grin. Kaeya on the other hand is baffled beyond comparison. He splutters in confusion before settling on a very confused but devastating expression. “You’re married?” He whispers in utter disbelief and just a little, just a little bit of betrayal settles beneath his tone.
Diluc sighs and looks away with an irritated face, a faint hint of blush dusting his skin. “Yes.” He says admittedly with an exasperated but fond tone. Paimon stares at Diluc in disbelief before stuttering out questions regarding his relationship. They spend a few minutes by the campfire as they try to wait out the increasing wind currents of the snowy peaks. By the time they were moving, Paimon was still pestering Diluc about his marriage and Traveler couldn’t help but let it be. Even they were curious about their friend’s relationship that even no one else knew.
“Wait… Your wife is in Dragonspine?”
“That is the workplace of an Alchemist.”
“Alchemist?!”
It wasn’t until a literal earthquake shook the mountain core that they stopped their little interrogation. The group, alert and prepared for an attack, try to find the origin of the earthquake. That’s when a ruin guard lands before them with a heavy impact that sweeps them off their feet. Diluc quickly gets up on his feet and rushes towards the Ruin Guard preparing to shoot a few missiles their way.
But a bolt of lightning descends from above, followed by a figure that pierces through the Ruin Guard’s arm. Traveler uses that distraction to throw their sword at the Ruin Guard before it is knocked off with a high-pitched ring and lands on the snow. A deep but authoritative tone screams through the blizzard winds that could have embedded fear in their hearts. “ Don’t touch my- EXPERIMENT!” The crackle of lightning had them stepping back as the immense power had the hairs on their arms standing in attention of the danger. A hiss of lightning bolted through the arms before a white spear drove itself through the Ruin Guard’s power core.
“How annoying.” The figure was a woman. She was tall and proud in her stance. She took out her spear with wires that clung to the white metal of her weapon. With a twirl of her spear, she drives the blunt end of the weapon through the Ruin Guard for good measure. She whips her head to meet the group and she strides onwards towards them. Her tone was forced and furious beneath her tongue. Her jaw was grit tight and a small sneer made its way on her face.
“What’s troubling you, dear.” Diluc puts away his claymore as his wife huffs away irritated. She also puts away her weapon and sighs exasperated. “The amount of paperwork that is.” She snarkily replies as she comes forward to the quartet still gaping at her in awe and disbelief. Adjusting her coat and her gloves, she reaches a hand out to the traveler.
“Nice to meet you, Traveler. I suppose you’ve been dragged along to retrieve my husband, yes?"
Interactable on the Map
After finishing Diluc’s Second Story Quest, a hidden mechanic that people overlook is that you can talk to Reader. As mentioned before, you can catch a glimpse of her in the newly open second floor of the Headquarters inside her office or on her camping spot at the top of Dragonspine. Interacting with her the first time will give you 10 intertwined fates.
“Thank you for helping my husband, Traveler. I know he gave you compensation for the trouble but I’m also giving you my part of the compensation. Think of it as a package deal from us.”
Afterwards, she gives you one extra commission every week worth 60 primogems. And when you visit her after completing that new commission, she sometimes may talk to you, other times she stays silent.
“How do I know so much about the gods? Well… I’m a high priestess. I used to serve Istaroth, even long before Khanre’iah fell. I lived for so long, even longer than the Archons but even immortality has its downsides. Watching so many people perish before myself was harder than acknowledging the blood soaking my hands.” — Reader, Alchemy Office of the Knights of Favonius Headquarters
“Your sister? Hm… I’m unsure. I’ve never met her nor have I heard of an, “Abyss Princess.” However I can give you words of advice, Traveler. Whatever you are seeking, it’s already garnered their attention. Be wary of the people, Traveler. They’re hiding, hoping to catch you off guard.” — Reader, Dragonspine
Hi super lady, would you write something with itto in it bc the man can’t catch a break ,, or maybe something about what it would be like traveling with or going on a business trip with genshin men? 🤍
Trips!
(Diluc, Childe, Itto)
masterlist
Diluc :
He thinks out trips months in advance. He needs to make sure Mondstadt is safe with his leave and that you are safe wherever the two of you are going.
He will make sure to have a plan ready and to take it slow. He wants to make sure he enjoys his time away from work and with you.
You’re his priority and no matter how much he has planned, if you want to do something he will automatically listen.
Diluc and you sat staring out at the shore. The waves were nearly as soothing as your boyfriend's rough hand. His thick fingers rubbed circles against your arm as you sat in calming silence. To say he had impressed you was selling him short. The day had been perfect. Just enough to keep you on your toes. And to finish it off he brings you to such a lavish beach.
“Are you enjoying our trip, dear?” Diluc’s voice fills the air and you can’t help but squeeze his hand.
“Of course. Thank you.” You lean in to place a kiss against his cheek and he turns pink.
“Anything for you.”
Childe :
Childe is used to traveling to far places. Almost anywhere you two go he knows his way around.
Even if he doesn’t he picks up on things quick. You don’t ever have to worry while you’re with him!
He will make sure everything is paid for and you get to see/do anything you want. It’s very important to him that you get to experience everything.
“Is this all that you had hoped for?” Childe grinned as he whisked you around the bustling city. His eyes were wide with joy and excitement. When you saw him like this you could really see where he had got his nickname from.
“It’s lovely.” You hum and he nods in agreement.
“Absolutely. I’ll have to take you on more of my trips.” He elbows you and you only roll your eyes. You knew better than to accompany him on his thousands of escapades for the Fatui. Afterall they were intense and flightful.
“I don’t know about that one, honey.” You pat sarcastically at his back and he just flashes you a typical smirk.
“I’ll convince you one of these days!”
Itto :
Itto will ask to visit random places on a whim. If you’re down for that then perfect!
He does not plan and has no idea where he’s going. He just follows whatever looks fun.
UNLESS, you have a plan or something you really want to see. He doesn’t mind going to do what you like! Seeing you happy makes him happy.
“Babe.. Have you ever been to Mondstadt?” Itto pokes at your cheek as you slowly wake up. You rub at your eyes as you grunt.
“What?” Your brain tries to wrap around the words as you take in his messy hair. He apparently had not joined you in said slumber.
“Have you ever been to Mondstadt-” You cut him off quickly as you toss into his large frame.
“I heard you. No I haven’t. Where is this coming from?”
Itto just shrugs as he wraps his arms around you and places a kiss against your forehead.
“Dunno but I think we should go tomorrow.” He chimes and your eyes widen at his bold request.
