we just want to ask this out of sheer curiosity even though it hasn't happened to us yet: how often would you think that systems end up with headmates from dreams/while sleeping? again, this hasn't happened to us yet, even though it's felt like it should've a few time now, but we've seen it happen to a few other systems we know. so we were just wondering how common is was and how often it could happen to the same system.

I wouldn’t say it’s common, but it is a thing we’ve seen happen a few times, including within our own system! We’ve had it happen twice out of our 50+ members, and most systems we know only have 1 or 2 (if any), but I’d say it’s definitely possible to have more than that.

I’m pretty sure the term for a headmate from a dream/sleep would be a somntive, though we’ve seen a few variants of the term. If anyone happens to know where that term came from--because we have seen it around--it would be appreciated!

Hi there. I've been wondering for some time how I identify and recently I've realized that at times I strongly relate or identify with a specific "vibe" or "aesthetic" as if it were actually a part of me. I don't think they play a part into my gender in any way, so I was wondering if it had anything to do with otherkin or alterhuman stuff. I know basically nothing about the community, so if you could help me out at all, that'd be great. Have a fantastic day! :)

I saw you also asked this on alterhuman-positivity. I think this is the best blog to answer your question on, so I’ll just do it here!

So, there’s a couple things that could be going on here.

- You just like the aesthetic (which is perfectly fine). - You’re otherkin and your kintype relates to that aesthetic, for example, a wolf might relate to the aesthetic of its habitat. This is pretty common--Archie in this system is Zonic the Zone Cop from the Sonic comics and relates to any aesthetic surrounding space and things like that.  - Possible conceptkin? I don’t know too much about it so take this one with a pile of salt but I’ve seen some aesthetic-kin around before I think. I’m not 100% on how it works but I’d be able to find out if you wanted me to.

Good luck figuring it out though! This sounds really tricky, but you’ll get through it!

How do you figure out/discern if you’re a soul shard?

I’m not sure exactly what you mean by soul shard, I’ve never heard that term before. Maybe some of our followers might be able to help?
