Dimidiums
I will state this now. This is not an original idea, but I am not coping anyone else’s ideas, everything that I’ve come up with for this species is from things I’ve watched and read over many years. Not one thing directly influenced me though.
Dimidiums. They are known as many things. But here they are called Dimidiums. Dimidiums are part human part animal. But its not that simple. Some have more human features than others. Some are basically anthropomorphic with how they look. Your favorite catgirl on tik tok? There’s a chance she’s a Dimidium.
You can normally tell right away from their face or their legs. Face wise sometimes they will have a head of an animal, or even a human head with the animal features. Then there’s the one that just have a plain human face.
Whatever face they have will go hand in hand with what kind of legs that they have.
The first one is a normal human leg. The Dimidiums with these legs also have a normal human face. Ones with a human head but with animal features normally have the legs in the middle. It’s a human foot but digitigrade walking. The final set of legs are digitigrade, which is when the Dimidium is full animal.
They are known as Dimidiums as a whole, but each subspecies has their own name
Vicus Dimidietas Totus
Originally they were all called Dimidiums but some of the Vicus didn’t like being categorized with Totus.
Totus were seen more as feral animals. So even within their own race they didn’t get along, which is why they started to become separated.
All three were treated horribly by humans. They would be captured and put into a slave trade. The Transcendents and the Dimidiums somehow never crossed each others paths until the 8th century.
All Dimidiums have characteristics of the animal they are, and goes along with their personality.
