The category is always a tricky choice, at least how to interpret it 🤔
Sly 2 is one of my all-time favourite games.. however! Dimitri's not by any means my favourite character from the Sly games, but I admit he has the appeal of the "love to hate 'em" sort of character - not a surprise since they're a villain! 🤓
But even though he uses his Paris nighclub for... "questionable" business activities, he has one heck of a banger playing in his club!!
With Alvard Lupus subdued and incarcerated, Thaddeus's place in history is restored once Simon Le Paradox gets exposed and loses it all.
Annette talked to Dimitri a second time once Bentley established a connection with him. The iguana was still annoyed at her and called her a "cottontail" again. Then, Annette appealed to his fashion sense. Dimitri's initial annoyance became water under the bridge, leading to respect.
In his own unique way, Dimitri relayed that Le Paradox has targeted the Golden Age of Pirates. That meant they had to find and help Henriette "One Eyed" Cooper and her band of pirates. Turns out, Thaddeus had a hunch that there was something bigger on the horizon during the Victorian England operation.
He provided the artifact this time around: a gold doubloon. Annette accepted it from his gloved hands.
"Wow! Thank you," the rabbit said.
"Best of luck to you and your friends, Sly," Thaddeus bade. "You are going to need it."
With Leila Mau defeated and thrown back into the present day, Pharaoh Ahmose is quickly restored to the throne. The Pharaoh hound has Cyrille Le Paradox's Egyptian ancestor set for execution. Those who sided with him are to be tried for their treachery. Although Sly wishes he could help rebuild, there's a bigger dilemma on their hands.
Bentley plugs in the communicator he brought along and activates it to reveal a familiar face projected from the other end.
"Dimitri. Long time, no chat," Sly greeted once he saw him. "I see you've still got some moves."
"And you still a cracker box for that boogie down in skunk town," the iguana pointedly stated.
It was clear he had some words, although now was not the time. Annette was curiously looking at the hologram of the Marine iguana projected from the gem.
"Hey. What's your name, Mr. Hologram Ghost?" Annette asked, getting his attention.
"That device allows us to communicate with our friend, Dimitri," Bentley revealed.
"He worked with us on a previous job," Sly added. "And I take it he has watch over the 'Thievius Raccoonus' again?"
"That's correct," Bentley replied.
"So, he's not a ghost," Annette realized. "Good. Good to know."
"I'm not pushing the daisies, you cuckoo cottontail!" Dimitri countered with some annoyance.
"My name's Annette," Annette told him, a little off-put by his sudden exclamation.
It doesn't take long for Dimitri to fill Sly in on the rest of what went down in the present day. He also reports that there's modern technology in Victorian England. This means they have to find Thaddeus Winslow Cooper III. Turns out the black top hat Annette found near the end of "Operation: Two Lands" is the key to getting to that era in time.
