ARAFINWE WAS STILL both amazed &. rather puzzled he had found this STRANGER on his evening walk. He was no Eldar. No Ainur ( at least he didn’t think so ). And he most certainly didn’t belong here &. needed help which Arvo was more than willing to offer. He just smiled at the other’s statement about someone exploiting his good will -- he knew not all Eldar were as open-hearted as the prince &. most people he knew, but an ‘ evil soul ‘ ?? No, there was no one this cruel in the Blessed Land Aman.
“ But why would anyone do this? ” With a light chuckle, he merely shook his head. “ And don’t worry, my friend -- you certainly are no burden! On the contrary, I would feel honored if you were my guest. ” His smile was warm, pure. His hand placed upon his chest clad in finest blue fabric trimmed with gold. “ Now let us go, ere the light of Laurelin wanes and leaves us in the dark. ”
Sun &. moon hadn’t been born yet &. the world was illuminated by the light of the Two Trees ; Laurenlin’s golden light by day, Telperion’s silver light by night. When they arrived at Arafinwe’s home near the palace of the Highking, the light of the trees mingled and displayed a magical play of colours in the starry evening sky. Arafinwe’s home was just as magical. A comfortable cottage ( and by all means not small ), surrounded by a gorgeous garden rich with summer fruit &. flowers. From afar they could see the ocean, behind them was Tírion, the white town of the Noldor, upon a hill.
“ Here we are, ” he said and opened the gate for his guest to enter. As soon as they were inside, Arvo served tea &. raspberry pie, then seated himself opposite of his guest, aquamarine eyes twinkled with sheer curiosity.
“ May I ask where you have come from? You are no Eldar -- ah, excuse my curiosity~! ”
But he couldn’t really help himself. Loki was so strange &. fascinating. His name, his clothes, everything about him, for he had never seen a BEING like him before.
