I'm already very familiar with the desire to eat a cute baby as I once had a very cute baby and I spent my days wanting to bite his cheeks off, but I looked up an article about it because of a scene I'm working on for single parents au (not so much for research purposes and more so for fun) and I found this charming article which expounds upon the phenomenon and the reasons for it.

I would like to share this quote with you because I found it so silly and cute:

In their first study, participants were shown pictures of babies that were so cute they overwhelmed them with positive feelings and caused them to reveal expressions of high aggression, saying they wanted to pinch the babies’ cheeks and “eat them up.”

I just think it's so funny that humans see a little cutie (human or animal, tbh) and love it so much that their brains overload and cycle right back around to hatefulness, but in an affectionate way. We are so fucking goofy as a species.
