SMALL TALK ABOUT OTHER STUFF TO KEEP THEIR MINDS OFF THE PAIN AND SADNESS WEIGHING THEM DOWN?
I live for the idea that this two have been together the longest and are, by now, comfortable enough with just being, just spending time with each other. There’s a special kind of beauty in a relationship/friendship where two people are content and comforted by simply existing together for a little while, knowing the other is there if you need them but also letting each other be and enjoying a comfortable kind of silence that only exists between two souls that take solace on each other. Like, just knowing the other is there makes it better.
Lbr though, Jester is not one for silence. She probably cracked a joke after a while, to break the tension that’d built between after their conversation and Fjord —unlike the times where he pretends to be annoyed by her antics to keep his serious leader role intact— probably just played along with it, relieved to see her smile and laugh, even joking a little too and playing along for the pure pleasure of seeing her smile.
By the time they went to bed, they were probably feeling a little lighter, a little more whole, a little less weighed down by the unspoken worries in their chest. What truly matters, in the end, is that by the time they fell asleep, each other’s company had made the world a little better.
