"THE BUTTERFLY HUG"

In 1997 Hurricane Pauline struck Acapulco killing hundreds of the poorest residents of what may be Mexico's most affluent tourist haven. Working with survivors Lucina Artigas developed a self-administered BiLateral Stimulation technique called The Butterfly Hug—still used as a self-soothing technique in the mental healthcare field.... Born in Russia and raised in Syria, Dina Saadi now lives in Dubai and "uses art to speak her mind" and showcase her ideas. With the increasing influence of technology on people's lives Saadi doesn't believe mental health gets enough attention so when the opportunity came her way to paint this work at Chestnut and Broadway for @PowWowLongBeach she painted created this stunning expression of her concern. @dinasaadi/
