Name: Abelisaurus Type: Theropod-type “Abel’s dinosaur”

Description: Contrary to popular belief, Abelisaurus isn’t named after any biblical character. Rather, it was named after a paleontologist.

Abilities: Panic If Abelisaurus falls below 50% health, it receives a speed increase

Moves:

Ambush Theropod-type The first time this attack is used, it deals 1.25x the damage

Bullet Train Therizinosaur-type Abelisaurus dashes into its opponent

Bask Theropod-type Abelisaurus rests for two turns, receiving a health increase and a drastic speed increase

Defiant Ceratopsian-type All status effects are cleared. This can only be used once

The Dinodex Introduction

Turning dinosaurs into a pokémon-like game! I will (try to) turn all 1000+ dinosaurs into pokémon-like characters.

I’m only working on valid dinosaurs, and only dinosaurs, no pterosaurs or marine reptiles.

I will not be making art(okay I might make art), a game, or any media for this project. It is an entirely text-based passion project.

This project is also not meant to be paleoaccurate and will incorporate small fantastical elements, however, I will try to stick to realism.

Description: Acrocanthosaurus was the first ruler of the North America region, before they mysteriously disappeared.

Ability: First Blood Acrocanthosaurus’s first attack inflicts bleed for two turns

Strike Theropod-type Acrocanthosaurus delivers a single strike

Spine Cut Theropod-type Acrocanthosaurus cuts its opponent. Has a 5% chance to inflict bleed

Side Bash Ornithopod-type Acrocanthosaurus tips to the side and rams into its opponent, leaving itself stunned

Advent of Extinction Ceratopsian-type Meteors fall and volcanoes erupt, turning the ground to fiery hot magma. Reduces the defence of sauropod, ankylosaur and ornithopod-types

Description: A rare and ancient genus, Acristavus was one of the first Ornithopod types.

Ability: Panic If Acristavus falls below 50% health, it receives a speed increase

Bloodlet Stegosaur-type The lower Acristavus’s health is, the more damage this move deals

Worm Ornithopod-type Acristavus shakes from side to side, increasing its defence

Achillobator

Name: Achillobator Type: Therizinosaur-type “The Hero of Achilles”

Description: The legendary rival to Utahraptor, the battles between the Hero of Achilles and the Thief of Utah have been told for decades.

Ability: Achilles Heel Whenever an opposing Therizinosaur-type is in play, Achillobator receives increased attack but decreased defence

Moves:

Raptor Talons Therizinosaur-type Achillobator cuts into its opponent with knife-like toes. Inflicts bleed for two turns

Balance Therizinosaur-type The heavier the opponent is, the more damage attack this deals

Backflip Therizinosaur-type Achillobator does a backflip. Increases speed and agility and decreased defence

Titanic Takedown Theropod-type Achillobator uses its own weight to muscle its opponent into the ground. The opponent cannot use any attack moves and Achillobator cannot move at all for the next turn. This move deals more damage if Achillobator weighs more than its opponent

Description: Living up to its name, Achillesaurus isn’t really good at anything in particular, except for digging for insects.

Ability: Venture Aardonyx is not affected by any terrain

Moves:

Silent Listener Therizinosaur-type Achillesaurus pays attention. It may attack twice on the next turn

Sift Ornithopod-type Achillesaurus searches the sands to find food, regenerating some health

Suck Blood Therizinosaur-type Steal 1/8th of your own health from your opponent

Undergrowth Therizinosaur-type Acherosaurus uses the undergrowth to hide and gains an agility increase. Only works if terrain is unchanged/has foliage
