So funny story about the original IT movie: my friend invited me over to watch it and then left the room while she went and had a really personal and loud argument with her mom and I couldn’t leave the room or turn it off because I didn’t want to interrupt or listen in. So I was trapped in her room with nothing to do but watch the scariest movie I had ever seen in my 12 years of life. And I’ve never watched it since. The end.
as;ldkjfas;ldkfj OKAY so I had a similar childhood experience? But I gotta tell you, it’s a lot like Reptar, in Rugrats. Like when the babies watch it it’s a horrifying monster, but then you see it from the adult perspective, it’s actually a fucking muppet on strings (there’s a real word for that I’m too tipsy to remember).
I remember not being able to sleep for WEEKS after seeing it as a kid (4th grade I think?) but I literally did not stop laughing for three hours. I don’t find the new Clown films scary, but they are on par with like... fucking Hereditary compared to the 1990s mess.
But being a tween trapped in a horror film while your friend argues with her mother sounds.... so awful...
Anyways the gif below depicts how I recommend watching the film:
