I just woke up from a late morning nap and somehow this whole post was in my head...
Last ever scene of 911. We are at the station, Bobby's portrait hangs, 5x his size, on the wall, looking down benevolently at the group around a huge table in the middle of the bay. Everyone is there, made to look older with the laziest make up possible (except Athena because no one would dare do that to Angela).
Everyone is still in the same job, Chimney is captain and looks 10 years older than Bobby ever made it. Maddie is behind him, smiling, somehow pregnant again. Hen and Karen have new foster kids around because that's the only storyline the writers can think of for them. Ravi and May have obviously married and Harry is for some reason still a probie (they forgot about him until the last minute in the writers room).
A withered skeleton in a flight uniform looks at the happy scene from a window ("look, we brought Tommy back!" Tim's exit interview will say, proud of himself for making all the fans happy, since he brought him back (which will please one half of the fans) but still didn't dare to make him happy (which will please the other half).)
Buck sits at the head of the table, a man and a woman sitting on either side of him, admiringly feeling up his muscles, no ring on his finger or anything else that shows he's off the hamster wheel.
For some reason TK is bringing Buck a cake that says " Happy 50th" on it, as if he would have a reason to be there. No one knows what this cameo cost, except Ryan Guzman who will let it slip in an interview 3 years later where he's asked if the fact that Eddie sat 5 seats down from Buck, arm in arm with a woman whose face we never saw, means Buddie will happen.
