The first Tiepolo Ball was held in Venice in 1951. Held at the extravagant Paazzo Labia in Venice. It became known as “the party of the century,” with princesses, celebrities, and socialites including Jacqueline de Ribes and Salvador Dali.

Dior, along with the Venetian Heritage Foundation, revived the same costume ball in the same ballroom to celebrate the opening of the Venice Biennale. As an opulent charity dinner, the event benefited the restoration of Venice’s architecture and cultural heritage.
