d/io singing "does your mother know" by abba to me jokingly as if hes really that much older than me
take away the vampire immortality that gave him another 100 years at the bottom of the ocean and we're both just stupid 21 year olds dude
( Yeah, you already know how this will end. ) Now you've seen his face And you know there's a place in the sun For all that you've done.
Maybe he looked like he was in pain because it takes a lot out of him to do glamor magic?? (idk i kinda like thran having some magic as sorta per book canon). Also I agree-- that scar does not look OLD. There's no way you can get a disfigurement like that with out it being a burn-- and I see no burn marks. so.
That's what I was thinking too. Because I do think he has some magic because of book canon. And I also noticed it's just a small part of his face. Which dragonfire he probably wouldn't have half of his face, plus head and would extend down to his neck and he would possibly be missing an ear??
I don't know. It just doesn't look like an old wound from the first age. It looks newish. If Thranduil had been scarred by that during the War of Wrath, being a prince he would have gotten the best elvish healing possible and you can be damn sure Oropher would have made that happened. And given elvish healing and how long it would have been since he got that wound. It shouldn't look so new and fresh
In a way, it also reminded me of Mirkwood's magic. It's jarring, shocking and disorienting. It throws you off the path, so to speak.
(about the scar thing) I highly doubt that Thranduil would have even survived such an injury, even if he is an elf. It would have gotten infected ages ago.
I'm just not sold, to be honest. Like...It doesn't look like an OLD scar.
If he would have had that since the first age, with elvish healing plus longevity, I feel like it wouldn't be as extreme as it is in the movie.
There's just something about it that seems off to me and I'm not sure what it is.
Also I noticed that once Thorin sees it and he's not entirely sold either, Thranduil becomes dismissive. Almost as if he was trying to sway Thorin with it. It makes me wonder if it's valid.
