Of course this is my life.
I'm directing a middle school show and it's been great so far, except for my lead. She was suspended and had an "F" in her final grades last quarter. She's consistently a space cadet and not paying attention to blocking notes. Also, everyone was off book yesterday except for her. Now I get an email from the principal and Vice principal more or less being like "WTF" well..I took it upon myself to drop her from my lead. She is now still a great part but she can still focus on school and be apart of the show. It was the best decision because my understudy knew ALL of the lines and ALL of the songs. I think it was the best decision. If you were in my shoes..would you make the same call?
