send for my muse's reaction. ( x )
When he arrived at her place, clearly perturbed and upset about things that he would rather not talk about, he was grateful when the older woman left him alone to his inner demons, with little more than a casual hug and small smile before she disappeared into the kitchen to grab the cookies she had made just before he came over.
He seats himself on her couch, sighing a bit at the way her dogs and Cleo greet him, appreciating the gestures of the sweet animals but still unable to bring a smile to his lips.
It's then that Kahi returns, seating herself next to him and holding a freshly baked Halloween decorated sugar cookie to his lips. Food is the last thing he wants, really, but he takes a bite anyways out of fear of being rude if he doesn't, and hums at the taste that greets his taste buds as he chews.
He blinks over at her, and remains silent for a moment before he swallows the mouthful and gazes at her with little amusement. "Why?"
And he tries to fight it. He really tries his hardest to keep the twitch of a smile from curving his lips with a purposely set frown, but the urge soon breaks through, and he manages a small smile as he shakes his head at her, remaining silent as he leans to take another bite of the cookie so that he doesn't have to say anything else.
