hey yall not my usual post but i need some help. my friend recently got her leg amputated and is struggling really bad with mobility aid money/medical money and just general life expenses. is there anything from me yall would be willing to buy?

i know times are tough so i don’t expect people to just donate money, but i’d really like to help her. let me know!

some things i can do: i make edits, graphics, i can make gifs if need be although im still learning all that HAHA, i can write, i sell ae and vsp colorings on my ko-fi. im also a beginner artist and can make decently okay fruit stickers lol

hoist and tilt in space commode arrived today!!!! had a support worker scheduled tonight and was able to have a proper shower with the new equipment and it was amazing

so so nice to be clean! and to be able to get out of my powerchair without struggling to move myself was so amazing

currently the hoist doesn't fit under my bed so i cant transfer to/from bed with it, but hopefully we can get bigger wheels on my bed soon to raise it up a bit, they make ones specifically to work with hoists thankfully

i really really hope we can get a ceiling hoist approved for my place 🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞! would be amazing to try transfer independently like that and not have to have such big equipment in my tiny flat

my new shower chair / commode is a Raz with attendant tilt (https://razdesigninc.com/shower-commode-chair/raz-at-attendant-tilt/)

its very comfy and has lateral support and thigh adductors, which was so much more supportive than my previous shower chair.

one funny thing though is my body has muscle memory and associates being tilted with being in my powerchair, so while in the new commode i kept reaching for my non-existent joystick to realign myself lmao

I ended up reading a poem of mine to a whole bunch of writers at an event today, and I did so directly from the Pomera DM100 word processor I wrote it on.

So afterwards, they asked me what it was and I explained.

I also had the Freewrite Traveler with me and showed and explained that to them too.

People were writing down the info on the Pomera and asking how to import one from Japan and work around the troubles of its Japanese format keyboard.

No one had any further interest in the Freewrite Traveler, even after I explained everything about it I did appreciate.

I’m not an enemy of Astrohaus,, if I was, I wouldn’t have put half a hours and of my own dollars into owning this and giving it an extended presence in my writing ecosystem, but these results are speaking for themselves at least when explaining it honestly to other writers so far.

And so, the trial continues…
