controversial httyd opinion:
The dragon gang kind of grows on me as I'm watching the show. But if I was hiccup I wouldn't be as forgiving. Or at the least I wouldn't be as trusting and have an exit strategy. The kids I can forgive as a grown up now because they're dumb kids who can change, who were just repeatingthe behaviors of their parents. But I wouldn't forgive the whole village. They finally stop treating you like shit only after you risked your life and show dragons can be useful. Pretty bullshit to me. Is probably why hiccup was so desperate to do anything to show them he was useful but was also sarcastic and bitter at the same time. Gives so many queer and disabled vibes to me. Especially if they grow up in a small religious home/town/community. Yeah but I can see why Hiccup would not want to be Chief. There's always this vibe that Toothless is only one who fully gets Hiccup. Over all Hiccup is way kinder than I am.
