Try combining chocolate sauce and red food coloring. It's cheap and safe if you accidentally eat it. It dries easily & won't peel off. Comes off with water! Red food coloring might ruin light-colored clothes, thou.

I could use both because I doubt I'd ever find a way to keep the clothes (and they are definitely light) clean so I could just use a dye that actually stays better. And that chocolate sauce idea sounds brilliant!
