Pulled this during the peak yesterday!
Finishing up my most recent disc dyes, we went to my latest go-to color combo of green, purple, and black. The first cell pull was pretty adorable with a spriggan decal, if a bit muddy. The neon royal purple bleeds across other colors, as I saw in the second cell pull.
Being a clear disc, it didn't pop like I hoped, so then I coated the underside in the neon green. It toned down the bleeds a bit, while making a world of difference.
And lastly, this lotion bed dye was one screw up after another. It had bubble white spots, the dye didn't touch a large ring around the outside, when I did the black border it got all over the disc from gods know what, and when I patched the white spots I forgot to rinse it for a few days so the black patches are much darker than the rest. It's not terrible for all that, just very flawed. This pic was from when I did the border, so that's not its final form. You can definitely see the dye bleed in it.
My partner picked up disc golf about a year ago and some of our friends additionally picked up disc dyeing. As any craft wench does, I had to try.
First bed was cool, but was an Innova d-line. Doesn't take dye well at all. First couple of dyes were failures for this reason.
After that I used a different texture disc and had an ooooh moment.
Also tried a vinyl sticker I had lying around, those are fun.
There were some bubbles so it got patched with orange to make it less camouflaged in grass.
I picked up more used discs locally and went nuts.
After some success, I decided to try a cell bed. Of course I had to try for a rainbow, more color=better art, right?
My partner had told me to go for bright colors, "Pixie puke and unicorn shit". Alas, this was exactly what I got. The second did come out better, but was still too muddy for my tastes.
More pics later.
