I think I am turning into watercolour because the saturation bleeds down my knees blots my elbows stains my ankles It’s taking me over with tenderness my soft skin has become a canvas for the rough edges of the world my knuckles are red with discolouration my eyes black with deprivation my shoulder blades purple with sensation I am colours and pain and it is beautiful: the marks on my skin the burns on my hands every delicate moment and memory can be held together by the white puckered proof it has left behind on my inner thigh art is in the eye of beholder made to be watched with the steady gaze of another but I am my own beholder my gut twists with pride as I brandish all my ovalure art exhibitions; the harsh contact that has painted my whole body and left me alive
