Just don't click on it, please.
Recently, the discord account we had a lot of attachment to, we had to nuke/delete because we foolishly clicked a link that gave a hacker access to our computer and all our account information. They made threats, saying they would make phone calls, and they even thought it was okay to question why we had nitro (because oh no, it's terrible if a poor homeless person has something nice for themselves, they have to be scamming if they have a TEN DOLLAR subscription every month oh no!!) we simply said a friend has been helping with that. Why can't we have nice things? So, we have to be homeless with nothing to make us happy? Okay.
Thankfully we were able to get a two-week trial for our new account from the old one before nuking it. Discord even ended up flagging the account for malicious conduct because of the stupid hacker. Like how couldn't they see the account was compromised if there's a person typing telling other people that there's a hacker in their account?
They tried to target one of our friends, @cambriancrew as well. They were hell bent on trying to get them to click their stupid link, but we are relieved they did not, because they would have done the same shit to them. Probably would have taken over their account and started messaging their friends the bullshit link they are spreading. If someone sends you a game link with vercel in the url, BLOCK THEM. If your friend has never said anything about working on a game, BLOCK THEM. Don't give that hacker the fucking chance to get into your computer. They literally had screenshots and pasted a list of sites with usernames and passwords from the data they stole out of our computer.
This hacker made threats to call places and told us they would ruin things for us. We're telling all of you this so you don't fall for it like we did. We should have known better than to click on that link, but it was sent from a friend's account that we hadn't heard from in ages, so we thought that maybe they were actually working on a game project. But the thing is, we missed the fact that the first time they said a friend of theirs was working on a game.
Then their next attempt they said they were working on the game. They were being very pushy about this game too. Turns out, it is just a file that they use to install their malware onto your computer. It will close all browser windows you have open. They will insult you and ask what version of windows your computer has.
So if any of your friends start being pushy about a game out of nowhere, they've been hacked.
Don't fall for this people. We feel foolish enough as it is but they took advantage of our concern about a friend we hadn't heard from in ages. And we still haven't heard from that friend. Since their account was hacked, they haven't been back on discord. We worry about them.
