idk if this is really an unpopular opinion, but……i think, at some point, people need to calm the fuck down. yeah i get really offended and steamed by some stuff that i see in the media. many people do. it’s just natural. but at the end of the day i don’t center my entire life around being angry at drama over fiction--i’m looking for a job, i’m writing a book, i’m learning how to drive, i go to toastmasters regularly, i’m getting a TEFL certificate. contrary to popular belief, i don’t always get into fights with people over whether something is racist or otherwise prejudiced. it’s not always an argument i want to have since there are things to worry about in my actual real life other than, say, that one asshole i saw who said that she would support lotor’s unethical experiments if he did them irl……as terrible as that is.

and like. there are kids in cages right now. there are people in refugee camps. do you think any of them give a flying fuck that voltron used the “bury your gays” trope, or that lotor was the “abuse victim turned out to be like the abuser” trope, or that lm and jds killed their show’s only black female lead? i’m not saying that people should stop caring about those things, but…it’s terribly damaging to be in a “discourse” mode 24/7 and it also shows a privileged lack of perspective on what is going on in the world outside tumblr. it doesn’t hurt to get off the computer and take a walk, you guys--trust me. i’ve tried it. it’s great for your mental health. if someone spends their entire life doing nothing but getting angry on tumblr over stuff that happened in fiction, they should look at what is happening in FACT.

   t.ransmeds are not welcome on any of my blogs, t.ransmeds will always be wrong about trans people whether it’d be regarding transition, expression and the whole “you need dysphoria to be trans and also have to be diagnosed by a medical professional to be trans” bullshit. no matter what argument you give me you will always be wrong because it invalidates people who CAN’T full transition for one reason or another as well as many other cultures who recognize there being more than two genders.

   any hate about this will be deleted and or clowned on. you have been warned. don’t be a gatekeeper, it does more harm than good in the trans community.

i’ve literally seen the same people who say allura is a racist and a murderer ship lotor with sendak, one of the biggest racist murderers in the series.
