So I am day 3 {almost 4} with a bad migraine and it's wearing me down. So in boredom and a discussion starter, I ask:

If you were a ghost - say, for a set amount of time (let's say a week to give a solid time frame) you got to leave your body and go anywhere. Literally anywhere you wanted to go; city, mountains, moon - doesn't matter -  where would you go, and why?

So, this was a part of my liveblog of Ill Gotten Gains from earlier today.  Because I want to stir up discussion that will hopefully lead to further analysis of Aja’s character, I’m making it into its own post.  I’m curious as to what people have to say about her.

Aja deciding she needs to know the truth about Voltar is great character development for her.  It strikes me as the beginning of her heading to queenship.  Aja, personally, may not like the idea of being a royal, but she is resolute about standing up for what’s right and is willing to use her royal status for that cause.  This harkens back to Part 1, in the Arcadian Job, where she decides to help Stuart help free Buster.  She believed it was the right thing to do, so she did it.  To me, that plus her determination to know what happened to Voltar, is the beginning of setting her up to be a good queen.

Also, Aja’s been shown to be extremely sympathetic to grotesque/unusual creatures.  Again, with Buster in season 1.  When we’re introduced to them, Luug seems to be more her pet than Krel’s.  Arrrgh!!! is strange to her, yet she finds him magnificent.  

Aja, I think, is capable of great empathy and care (and these interactions are the evidence of that).  She does not fear someone because of the way they look, or considers them a monster.  I really love that about her.

Thinking about it, I also believe it is these things that set her up to return to Akiridion-5 to rule (rather than Krel, who’s motivated more by scientific research and discovery and has less of the diplomatic/charismatic characteristics required of a monarch).  A huge driving force behind a lot of the actions Aja does is connecting with others, which is something she is shown to do easily.  As a ruler, she would have more power to reach out to those in need and, as herself, would have an easier time empathizing and connecting with them.

Aja doesn’t have to stop being herself to be a queen.

A thought on herbalism

Many people in recent years have been turning to herbalism for many different reasons.

Some of those reasons are:

Distrust in doctors

Distrust in pharmaceuticals

Searching for a deeper understanding of nature

Searching for a connection to earth

Spiritually

Learning and understanding ones self

Trying to heal the body when modern medicine and science have failed

Belief that herbal medicine in inheritly safer or more effective

There are many of these things I agree with, and many I disagree with but understand. But one thing I must state for those who are just learning about herbalism or have only come from the analytical approach to it, is that truly effective herbalism first and foremost relies on one to listen to, understand, and nourish ones own body. Another statement I must make, is that though there are many paths, plants and aspects of herbalism that ARE safe, that herbal medicine is not inherently safe because it is natural. Many plants that are worked with for faster results and accute conditions are in fact quite poisonous, sometimes far more poisonous than the pharmaceuticals available. And in knowing that, you then need to be conscious of your choice to take one form of poison or another. Neither is inherently wrong, but truly in depth research and objectivity should be applied regardless of your choice.

I personally work with nourishment, and safe - mostly safe herbs alone for conventional healing, and only move into real poisons upon addressing spiritual healing and personal expansion. When i cannot heal with these, I will choose the pharmaceutical. BUT I will not ever call someone out for choosing differently than myself unless I see their choice coming from a place of dogma, misinformation or fear.

I choose to work with herbalism not only to find a deeper connection, but a deeper form of healing. And that comes from true nourishment, and taking your time to first work withresearch, and meeting individual plant allies before moving on to mixing and combinations to achieve something stronger or more well rounded.

You will never have a well rounded and in-depth understanding of your herbal allies through study alone. And though research in invaluable and necessary, taking expensive courses is not the only way to learn unless you’re truly going to explore the poisons. Don’t get me wrong, I am not calling people out for taking a course. I only aim to encourage others to be brave enough to learn without being leashed to a bank account if they so wish to.

In time, I hope to start sharing the recipes I’ve worked with over the years with others and work to help answer questions on what I know, and when I don’t know, direct people to those that do.

Just keep in mind that no two paths in herbalism are the same, and what may be wrong for you may be the right fit for another. It’s ok to only know 3-4 plants in depth and never desire to explore further. It’s also admirable to strive to know every single one under the sun. But don’t hate on or lash out at others because their path and ways of healing do not mirror your own.

To you, the reader (if your there) tell me your thoughts, opinions, and experiences. Do you have arguments? Questions? I’m certainly open to open discussion so long as it does not devolve into name calling or devaluation of myself or another individual.?

Regiment of BLU discussion?

{Please read the BLU page for context of this post} //ovo By the time I typed up this post, the inactivity of the moment got me to do this to start up a discussion possibly. And I am no military expert either. So, take this discussion starter’s content with a grain of salt, not a whole pound. You can reblog or take this to Discord, Skype, Reddit, an forum, or any other discussion platform.

This is the layout of an regiment of the BLU Imperial Army, one of the 14 military branches of the BLU Factional Empire, that rules about 70% of Bagklock Earth, which most of my characters, or muses, live in (Bagklock is an crossover universe). To briefly explain, an (modern) regiment is an military unit made up of 1,000 to 5,500 soldiers, lead by an Colonel, and can be divided into 3 to 6 battalions, which is made out of 3 to 5 companies in turn.

Now, I would like to know your thoughts on this layout, the types of soldiers mentioned here, the five sections of the regiment, that seem to be an mix of ancient and modern ways of mainly 2 sides fighting each other, medieval times, the Napleonic wars, and any war since 1900's as three examples, and 2 big questions:

How would an battle of two opposing regiments, slightly different, on any terrain you could think of, go? From beginning to end?

And how would an regiment of just BLU melee/hand-to-hand infantry, infantry non-Nen inner aura users, Ballclip musketeers, bows & chainsaw arrows, mounted on robot animal mounts cavalary, cavalry ‘Panzer’ robot animals, cannons, & mortars, with nothing else, go up against an full force of 11th century Crusader knights & footmen?

Don't try derail too much from this point while discussing, alright? Alright.
