Disney Dads are Twins
This thought just came to mind that Disney dads come in "twins". I'm sure Disney consumers have notice similarities before, but I had fun blowing my mind a tad by finding "Disney Dads" that seem to match in appearance, personality, or both (but mostly appearance).
Belle and Jasmine's dad: Short, pudgy guy who comes across as incompetent.
Ariel and Hercule's dad: Very muscular guy (and you can tell because his pecs are showing) with a full head and beard of white hair.
Aurora and Mulan's dad: On the tall and thin side, with black facial hair, and wants their daughter to come back home safely.
Moana and Pocahontas' dad: Ruler of a tribe that doesn't want their daughter engaging in their adventurous side.
Lets take a moment to appreciate the fact that Disney, FINALLY had both parents, not just 1 pair, but 2 pairs of parents alive, well, very much in love, and are very attentive to their kids and were prominent characters in the entire show. Lets give it up for Julieta & Agustin and Pepa & Felix.
Mama and Baba Fa were great but they needed more screen time.
We see a lot of love and appreciation for Dr. Doof for being a great dad, but let’s give this other Phineas & Ferb dad some credit too:
MR. LAWRENCE FLETCHER
Reasons Why He’s a Great Dad (+ Husband):
- he understood Linda’s situation of being a single mom and accepted and loved Phineas and Candace as his own kids
- he’s a supportive dad and a loving husband
- despite being not physically skilled, he tried to move heaven and earth just to do well at the father-daughter competition to make Candace happy
- he openly talks to Phineas and Ferb about their shenanigans with sincere interest
- even if he did sleep in the process, he spared a thought of buying Candace her own car (mind you a vintage car) and was willing to restore it to glory
- he adores Linda’s eccentrics and even if he forgot about his anniversary, he was on his way to elaborately plan a perfect anniversary which was made to be even more perfect because of Phineas, Ferb, and Candace’s meddling
- TA. TA. TA. FOSSILS!
- i could go on, but to sum it all up, his stepkids call him “dad” instead of “uncle” or “Lawrence”. That’s enough reason to say that he is a good dad.
