“Wild” implies a species has never been domesticated. “Feral” is used for lineages that were once domesticated but are no longer being managed. There are no Wild Sunflowers. There are only Feral Sunflowers. It was an important staple crop. Then the genocide happened.

I know intersex people are still getting excluded in a lot of LGBTQIA+ spaces (let alone wider society) and I think it's crucial to show this group is included in the statement that we all deserve equal rights.

-Uncle Iroh to Zuko I think about this line a lot. He delivers this mountain of wisdom, to his nephew, who is only a fire bender, but the worlds holds the same weight as if he was the Avatar. It has so many functions. Zuko who has been crawling through life, scratching and longing for love and acceptance from his father and the pain that was inflicted on him. Zuko the prince of a nation that has been oppressing nations and committed genocide who constantly struggles with his conflicting empathetic nature vs the destructive flame of his father. Zuko who has traveled and lived among the people and learned from every nation. Zuko, who found paths and skills that complemented and aligned with his nature and overcame paths and skills that opposed his nature.

Zuko, the great grandson and has the blood of a warmonger and the Avatar coursing through his veins. Just like Aang, he had to learn from all 4 elements and combine it with the one element that wasn't ever spoken outright but was represented by Sokka, humanity, ingenuity, compassion, empathy, cooperation , bonds, passion and the will to survive and thrive. He is one child, but has the ability to create balance in himself and balance to people beyond him, just like the Avatar.

I feel very depressed. And I have a migraine. Again. My anxiety is through the roof. And it is hot outside. I have to spend lots of money soon. And I don't like it. My job doesn't care about me. And I am burnt out. My attempt to learn a language has stalled. And I can't finish reading this book. I have not been sleeping well. And my hair is falling out.

All this and all my mind and body want to do is go find a gaggle of Canadian Geese and just hang out with them and honk very very loud.

No matter how one spins it or complains that its not, health care, medical care, education aka knowledge, access to clean air, land and water will ALWAYS be political. Why? Because these are things that the rich, wealthy and affluent will either horde first, restrict access too or pollute it so the lower class weakens, suffers and dies. Then turn around and start distributing it as though its some generosity from their heart. These are the things that when someone wants to wage war, or conquer these are the first things that they attack, seize and/or destroy. Some may disagree about education, but view education as the collective knowledge of the living and working people, over decades, hundreds if not thousands of years. This knowledge tells us how to make medicine and food, how to find it, how to process it, how to eat it, how to store it. Food is medicine, Food is life.

It also holds knowledge on how to utilize the resources that one has as efficiently as possible and conserve the limited ones. Convenience is an easy sell, over reliance of convenience reduces practical skills, creativity and resourcefulness. Some conveniences will ultimately almost always benefit folks like accessibility products, but some conveniences dull our senses, our brains, the vast variety of alternative solutions and tools and our ability to answer curiosity and discover wonder from the vast world. And these things, are sometimes not outright attacked, because there are so many smaller tributaries that connect to them. Many times they cut one small group off...it then makes it easier to cut off the rest. until they've horded it.
