big fan of the fact that everyone in enchanted undergoes some form of character growth except prince edward who’s just perfect exactly as is

giselle learns to be more grounded, robert and nancy learn to be more whimsical, nathaniel learns to stand up for himself, and then with edward they were like not you babygirl, you’re doing everything right

Something about Enchanted I think is very funny is its lineup of actors and what they were known for when the movie came out.

Like obviously we have Patrick Dempsey, Dr. McDreamy himself for about two years at the point the movie was released, plus other smaller roles in romcoms and such.

The there’s Amy Adams, who prior to this film, hadn’t had her big break yet, she’d been in about three movies and few tv spots before. Then she was chosen from about 300 actresses auditioning for the role of Giselle, and off her career went. She’d have a project every year following for about ten years.

And then renowned Broadway actress Idina Menzel, still about 8 years from Elsa (a role that’s continuously employed her since), two years from the movie version of Rent, and two years since she ended her stint as the original Elphaba in Wicked.

Timothy Spall who worked on this and Sweeney Todd in between his Harry Potter movies.

And, of course, James Marsden, an actor who is very much typecast in things as pretty much the same guy, either your average joe or your action hero. Except for this movie where he got to play a ditzy prince and it’s probably some of his best work.
