I just watched Moana 2 for the first time and...

Hello?? Matangi?? Wife material???

I will forever mourn the Moana TV series, it would have worked so much better. But when Disney drops a gorgeous super powered lady in front of you, you say "thank you" and don't ask questions.

"THEY CALL ME MISTER PIG" is still one of the most epic lines in cinema, I used to rewind/reenact that scene a lot as a kid.

Genie roasting Jafar during the battle was amazing too. ("Jafar, Jafar, he's our man, if he can't do it--GREAT!")

What can I say? I love the sidekicks, folks. ✌️ (Well, most of the time.)

Mr. Smee is a pure cinnamon roll of a character who deserves so much more appreciation. Hook may be my favorite Peter Pan character, but Mr. Smee is a very close second. I mean, really, how do you not like Smee?

Every good villain has at least one trusty sidekick, henchman, lackey, or underling. After all, someone has to take care of the mundane tasks while the head honchos come up with elaborate plans for crime, vengeance, and/or world domination. While their loyalty may not always be reciprocated, a good wicked right-hand man remains stalwart in their support of the boss's machinations, preferably with a song in their heart.

Trivia:

This is the first (and only, to date) episode of The Villains Lair that doesn't feature any of the main baddies.

Joey had first played LaFou for PattyCake two years earlier in "Beauty and the Bieber".

LaFou's fancy footwork was provided by tap dancer John Sparling.

Chaz returned as Kronk six months later for a fun dating themed version of "10,000 Hours".

Layne had co-arranged a medley of sidekick songs from animated Disney movies as part of VoicePlay's "Aca Top 10" series a year before.
