catacorredorm: perks del DCP: ver a Darren Criss un miercoles por la mañana✨💃🏼 #dcp #darrencriss #glee #disneycollegeprogram #contentcreator
Recently I finished my Disney College Program as merchandise for the Disney park, so here’s all the places I picked up and how I would rate them
1/2
reesemeyerx: just me and my close personal friend darren
I saw a youtube video pop up in my recs about common misconceptions about the Disney College Program.
The majority of the comments that I went through were about how the DCP is a scam, they know someone/multiple people who hated it, had no money, etc.
i 100% believe that the DCP is what you make of it, and as long as you save up some money in advance (if possible) and realize that it's a job and not just an excuse to fuck off to Orlando to play in the parks all day, you'll be fine!
As someone who managed to get through the whole thing without terming or being termed, it was a fantastic experience and I've recommended it to a handful of people I know (ex: a coworker at Jellystone who's in high school and is already interested in applying for the DCP) who are responsible and can handle the demands.
And trust me, it's hard work and there are demands. You're on your feet all day. When you're "onstage" (in front of guests) you have to take that extremely seriously.
And there are terrible days, like there are at any job. I was occasionally screamed at by both guests and higher-ups (which made me cry lmfao). Coords could be very catty. The hours sucked. Don't get me started on the pay.
But playing with lightsabers and kicking a soccer ball around with my roommates at Flamingo Crossings Village? Receiving little gifts from some very kind guests? Getting to wave at the characters while backstage? Playing in the parks on my days off? Getting to hop on the ride (because I worked attractions) at 1am on New Year's Eve with the other CPs who had to work during the holiday, and jamming out? Getting to know Orlando a little bit better? Meeting one of my best friends? I wouldn't trade it for anything.
And I mean yeah, if certain parts of the program (like living with roommates, dealing with guests, not making much money, being in an overstimulating theme park) don't appeal to you, just don't apply! Save your time and mental health. It's really not for everyone.
But if any of the stuff I said seems worth it, I promise, it 100% is. Just remember that, at the end of the day, it's a job and it's very hard work!
Full Jeremy Jordan talk and performance with Disney Programs!
in the future i'd like to make art for disney and be paid for it
All the other white girls in the Disney College Program are envious of my ankle rash cuz they know i'm getting the longest and sweatiest shifts in the Pluto costume
