There's another mouse now in electronic music! I haven't known whether to be excited or horrified at the news about Disney getting world-class djs to produce EDM versions of Disney tracks. On the one hand, this is an awesome idea, because who doesn't love Disney and who wouldn't love Disney songs infused with the added magic of Electronic? On the other, is there anything Disney doesn't take over or touch? Well, at least now we have the tracklist to help us form an opinion. (Or maybe not.)
There are a few here I'm curious about (Kaskade remixing Dumbo? Ok, um...what!?) but I also find it telling that a lot of these are from "alternate" Disney material (like the Main Street Parade) or newer Disney flicks. Most of these really aren't Disney classics. I've never heard of Annette Funicello's pineapple song let alone heard the song itself, and including "Derezzed" is clearly cheating since the music for Tron: Legacy was produced by Daft Punk and they already released a remix album based on the soundtrack. I don't know if this list makes me more eager to listen, or disappointed because I now know I won't be getting "A Whole New World (Audien Shimmering Splendid Mix.)"
