The prompt was for Ariel to take a hard look at a marriage made in haste. And as there was a huge dealbreaker right there in the film that was glossed over, I went ahead and took it apart “Language of Thorns” style. So this is a bittersweet twist-in-the-tale story for anybody else who thought that maybe it wasn’t romantic that a sixteen year old gave up her family, world and body for a man. And then wondered how she might find her way home again.

Stained curtains hung like tattered bat wings over crumbling stone. Wood beams punctured the ceiling, casting perpendicular shadows around shattered pottery.

“Nice accommodations,” Eugene whistled. “I mean, if you’re in’ta the rustic life,” he continued with a smirk, hands politely in his pockets.

The blacked haired man grinned, smile bright enough to outweigh a diamond in value.

“Well, a roof’s a roof. But I don’t live here anymore.” 

He tilted his head toward the sunset. A pink and fuchsia sky trimmed with copper-topaz clouds glowed behind a dazzling white palace, adorned in a lustrous gold crown.

“I live there now. At the palace.”

Eugene whistled again, awestruck.

“That, my friend, that’s a palace. You haven’t got a spare one up your sleeve?”

(Mid-movie.) En route to the circus' next stop after the pachydrem pyramid disaster, Timothy takes care of Dumbo and silently ponders what all has gone on, including concerning the true culprit of the Big Top falling.
