Remembering the small but nice interaction between Sabo and Bonney at Reverie

I got to say that if Bonney was raised at the Revolutionary Army, Sabo would be her favourite big brother.

In modern Au, she has to live in the same neighborhood as ASL brothers so she can have both Luffy and Sabo ( and Ace too) as her older brothers.

Ace Week Day 2: Vivre Card

Fascinated by how my special Sabo tag doesn't really work well for the character yet it was his first impression on me long before he showed up as an adult

Sometimes it hits me just how ooooooold One Piece is. Because of the setting you don't get reminded of it like with other long-running anime, but then things like "what's up with Zoro's eye" comes up and I'm suddenly 15 years in the past when Naruto was still running and everyone made sharingan theories.

Today, people barely talk about Zoro's eye and only the older or extreme anime fans say that anymore.

But yes, the setting is pretty timeless. Which I guess also contributes to OP's popularity somewhat.

Poor Little Orphans: Semi Finals - Koda v Quasimodo

Koda: Brother Bear 2004 His mother is killed by a human out of misplaced revenge near the start of the film

Koda becomes and orphan on screen, and it's one of the central conflicts in the movie. The scene where Kenai tells Koda what he's done was one of the saddest scenes I had seen in movies as a kid, and it was so heartbreaking I sometimes dreaded to watch the movie just because of that one scene! I grew out of that soon though and appreciated the sad parts.

When Koda meets Kenai, he doesn't know Kenai is the one who killed his mother, he thinks Kenai is all alone like he is and they go on this whole journey together. Kenai is clever and a loud mouth but its also very clear just a kid, like when he cnuddles up to Kenai to sleep, because he can't sleep alone.

Quasimodo: The Hunchback of Notre Dame 1996 His mother is killed fleeing Judge Frollo's very zealous (racist) pursuit when he was an infant causing him to be raised in the cathedral

Quasis was adopted by the killer of his mother, who told him she deserted him, because he was unloveable (because he is disabled), who is very racist and ableist and cruel to Quasi, forbidding him to have contact with the outside world.

I think the reason I voted for Koda is because Frollo killing Quasimodo's mom is a perfectly believable thing Frollo would do. Kenai on the other hand is not a terrible person and acted out of grief-rage.

Plus, he forms a genuine bond with Koda so him being the cause of Koda's mom's death has a different emotional punch than Frollo, even if Frollo was a terrible person to bring up anyone.

i love in One Piece whenever a deeply traumatized character tries to convince luffy that they're unlovable and that he's better off leaving them behind and that he shouldn't waste his time on them and luffys reaction every time is the most blunt "what the fuck are you talking about? are you stupid?"
