We did a last minute Disney trip for Easter weekend. I wanted originally to go to Orlando earlier this month for an art supply expo but then I learned that it was only for vendors. Not open to the public. Which was super disappointing. But my husband had a long weekend for Easter so I drove 4 hours down to Savannah to meet him and then we drove to Orlando.
First day we arrived we stopped at one of the outlet malls because I learned on the youtubes that there is a Disney Warehouse that sells discounted, out of season, Disney items..I guess I assumed it was actually a warehouse but its not..its like a little ghetto disney store lmao. Oh well..didn't see anything interesting there but it was one of the largest outlet malls I'd ever been to. Then we went to Disney Springs for the rest of the evening. Did some browsing and ate at The Paddlefish (?) its that big paddle boat restaurant. Food was only ok. We've eaten at other restaurants in Disney that were better tbh. The only thing I didn't get to do here that I'd never done before was go in Giddeons bake shop but the line was ridiculous and I honestly wasn't probably going to buy anything anyway.
Then the next day we spent half a day at Hollywood studios and then parkhopped to Epcot. My husband didn't get to do RotR last year (theres a huge story as to why), so we made sure we got on it this time. I really really like this new generation of rides and I'm really excited to see where it advances in the future. The Mickeys railroad is one of my new favorite current rides also. Epcot has turned into one of my favorite destinations. Its so funny how years ago, both of these parks were huge disappointments. Now its reversed. Unless something changes I have no need or desire to do Magic Kingdom or Animal Kingdom ever again. I really like the epcot atmosphere, the strolling and the eating different countries cuisine while shopping and listening to live music. Its a great festival weekend trip. I got a vegan shortrib which is probably the best food I had all weekend which is shown above. I also got some arepas from the encanto booth. We tried a few other things but I honestly was having some IBS issues and I tried really hard to push through it. Ugh. Again, these new rides..my husband loved the Rattatouille ride.
The next day we went to Universal studios as we'd never been on the Hagrid ride or Velocicoaster. Unfortunately Hagrid was a let down to me. I just..it was like a step down in technology. I don't get it. The animatronics were awful. The skin was wrinkled and falling off of them..they didn't even try to disguise the mechanics holding the figures up..what?
velocicoaster however was fabulous. loved that. Few years ago Universal won my love for favorite theme park. Now I think with Disneys winning me back. I would totally go back maybe next year to try the new Guardians of the Galaxy ride.
Also, I picked up a few simba items. Because I had to. They did have a golden 50th anniversary Simba figure..he wasn't that..expensive..but I just couldn't convince myself I needed him.
Anywho, I'm back home now. I have to go back to work tomorrow. I may try to paint something after work but it won't be anything of effort..or originality really..
