The big, pretty birdies are out and loud this morning. Some form of hawk probably. The cry leads me to think they're red-shouldered. I can't see if they've got a spotted (red tails are common here, too) or striped chest but that cry is pretty impressive. They have a nesting site back further in the woods, huge thing, and there were baby peeps from it earlier in the year. I only just started looking through my bird guide book, something I had to have since we moved.
